3. Setup

3.1. Charging the Battery

  1. Insert the supplied Rechargeable Battery Pack (NP-FV50) into the battery compartment on the camcorder.
  2. Connect the AC Adapter to the camcorder's DC IN jack.
  3. Plug the AC Adapter into a wall outlet. The POWER/CHG indicator will illuminate during charging.
  4. Charging is complete when the POWER/CHG indicator turns off.

The camcorder also supports USB charging (DC 5V 1500mA) and USB power supply for recording/playback (with supplied AC Adaptor AC-UUD12) or playback only (with a non-supplied AC Adaptor limiting 500mA).

3.2. Inserting a Memory Card

The camcorder has 32GB of internal memory. For additional storage, insert a compatible SDXC flash memory card into the memory card slot. Ensure the card is inserted correctly with the contacts facing the proper direction until it clicks into place.

4. Operating the Camcorder

4.1. Power On/Off

To power on the camcorder, open the 3.0" LCD Touch panel. The camcorder will automatically power on. To power off, close the LCD panel.

4.2. Recording Videos

  1. Open the LCD panel to power on the camcorder.
  2. Adjust the lens cover to the OPEN position using the switch near the lens.
  3. Frame your shot using the LCD screen.
  4. Press the START/STOP button (usually located at the back or side) to begin recording. The recording indicator will appear on the screen.
  5. Press the START/STOP button again to stop recording.

4.3. Zoom Function

Use the zoom lever located on the top of the camcorder to adjust the zoom. Push the lever towards T for telephoto (zoom in) and towards W for wide-angle (zoom out). The camcorder features 30x optical zoom and 60x Clear Image Zoom.

4.4. Capturing Still Images

While in video recording mode, press the PHOTO button to capture a still image. Still images are captured at approximately 2.29 Megapixels (16:9) or 1.71 Megapixels (4:3).

4.5. Playback

To view recorded videos or photos, navigate to the playback mode using the menu on the 3.0" LCD Touch panel. Select the desired file to begin playback.

5. Connectivity

5.1. Wi-Fi and NFC

The camcorder supports Wi-Fi and NFC for wireless connectivity. Use these features to transfer files to compatible devices or control the camcorder remotely via a smartphone application.

5.2. USB Connection

Connect the camcorder to a computer using the supplied USB Connection Support Cable to transfer video and photo files. The USB port can also be used for charging.

5.3. HDMI Output

Use the supplied HDMI (micro) Cable to connect the camcorder to an HDMI-compatible television or monitor for viewing your recordings in high definition.

  • Cleaning the Lens: Use a soft, dry cloth specifically designed for camera lenses. Avoid touching the lens directly with your fingers.
  • Cleaning the LCD Screen: Gently wipe the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn smudges, use a screen cleaning solution designed for electronics.
  • Storage: Store the camcorder in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the lens cover is closed to protect the lens. Remove the battery if storing for extended periods.
