3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

The Godox TT600 requires 4 AA batteries for operation. Ensure you use fresh, high-quality alkaline or Ni-MH rechargeable batteries for optimal performance.

  1. Open the battery compartment cover located on the side of the flash unit.
  2. Insert 4 AA batteries according to the polarity indicators (+/-) inside the compartment.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.2 Mounting to Camera

The TT600 features a standard hot shoe for direct mounting onto most DSLR and mirrorless cameras.

  1. Ensure the flash is turned off.
  2. Slide the flash's hot shoe foot into your camera's hot shoe mount.
  3. Rotate the locking ring on the flash unit clockwise until it is securely tightened.

3.3 Off-Camera Use (with H-type Bracket)

For off-camera lighting, attach the TT600 to the included H-type bracket (mini stand).

  1. Slide the flash's hot shoe foot into the slot on the H-type bracket.
  2. Secure the flash by tightening the locking mechanism on the bracket.

4.1 Controls and LCD Panel

4.2 Flash Modes

The TT600 supports various flash modes for different shooting scenarios:

  • Manual (M) Mode: Allows you to manually set the flash output from 1/1 to 1/128 power.
  • Multi (Stroboscopic) Mode: Fires a series of rapid flashes to capture multiple images of a moving subject in a single photograph.
  • S1/S2 Optical Slave Modes: These modes allow the TT600 to be triggered by another flash. In S1 mode, it fires in response to the first flash. In S2 mode, it ignores the pre-flash of a TTL system and fires on the main flash.

4.3 2.4G Wireless X System

The built-in 2.4G wireless X system enables the TT600 to function as both a master and slave unit within the Godox ecosystem, offering stable and reliable wireless control up to 100 meters.

  • As a Slave Unit: The TT600 can be triggered by Godox X System triggers (X1, X2, XPro, XProII, X3) or other Godox flashes acting as master units.
  • As a Master Unit: The TT600 can control other Godox slave flashes (e.g., TT600, TT350, V860II, V850II, AD200PRO, AD600) directly.
