1. Introduction

2. Important Safety Information

  • This ventless gas log set is 99.9% efficient and does not require an outside duct or chimney.
  • Equipped with a Safety Pilot O.D.S. (Oxygen Depletion Sensor) that automatically shuts down the unit if carbon monoxide or lack of oxygen is detected.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Unpacking and Inspection

  • Carefully remove all components from the packaging.

  • Ensure all listed components are present: 8 Hand Painted Ceramic Logs, Bag of Embers, Remote Control, Receiver Box, AA & AAA Batteries, Hardware Pack, Damper Clamp.

3.2 Battery Installation

  • For the Ignition: Install 1 AAA battery into the designated ignition compartment on the main unit.
  • For the Remote Control: Install 2 AAA batteries into the remote control unit.
  • For the Receiver Box: Install 4 AA batteries into the receiver box.

3.3 Connecting the Receiver

Connect the main unit with the receiver, ensuring that the receiver is in the OFF position before connecting. Refer to the included wiring diagram for proper connection.

3.4 Log Placement

3.5 Ember Material Placement

Distribute the included bag of glowing ember material over the burner pan to enhance the realistic fire effect. Do not obstruct the burner ports.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Lighting the Pilot Flame

  1. Ensure the gas supply is open.
  2. Press lightly on the control knob and turn it counter-clockwise to the PILOT position.
  3. While holding the control knob in, press and hold the IGNITION button until the pilot flame lights.
  4. Continue to hold the control knob in for approximately 30-60 seconds after the pilot lights to allow the thermocouple to heat up and stabilize the pilot flame. Release the knob slowly. If the pilot goes out, repeat the process.

4.2 Igniting the Main Burner (Remote Control)

Your log set includes a remote control for convenient operation.

  1. Ensure the pilot flame is lit and stable.
  2. Set the receiver box to the REMOTE position.
  3. Press any button on the remote control to activate its display.
  4. Once the display is active, press the ON button on the remote control to ignite the main flame.

4.3 Adjusting Temperature and Mode

  • Use the MODE button on the remote control to switch between manual mode and automatic constant temperature (thermostat) mode.
  • In thermostat mode, use the up and down arrow buttons to set your desired room temperature. The unit will automatically adjust the flame to maintain this temperature.

4.4 Turning Off the Unit

  • To turn off the main flame, press the OFF button on the remote control.
  • To turn off the pilot flame, rotate the control knob on the main unit clockwise to the OFF position. Always turn off the pilot flame when the unit will not be used for an extended period.

  • Cleaning Logs: Periodically inspect the ceramic logs for soot buildup. Clean gently with a soft brush or cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Burner Cleaning: Keep the burner ports free of dust and debris. Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to gently clean the burner area.
  • Pilot Assembly: Ensure the pilot assembly and ODS sensor are clean and free from obstructions.
  • General Care: Keep the area around the fireplace clear of combustible materials.
