Setup
Unboxing and Initial Components
Upon opening the Steam Controller packaging, you will find the controller itself, a USB cable, a wireless dongle, and two AA batteries. These components are essential for setting up and using your controller.

Battery Installation
To power your Steam Controller, locate the battery compartment on the underside of the controller. Insert the two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity as indicated inside the compartment. Close the cover securely.
Connecting to Your System
The Steam Controller can be connected to your PC or Steam Link via a wired USB connection or wirelessly using the included dongle.
- Wired Connection: Connect the provided USB cable to the micro-USB port on the front of the controller and to an available USB port on your computer.
- Wireless Connection: Plug the wireless dongle into an available USB port on your computer or Steam Link. The controller should automatically pair. If not, press and hold the Steam button on the controller until it connects.
