Setup

1. Power Connection

Connect the supplied AC adapter to the DC 5V input jack on the back of the unit, then plug the adapter into a standard wall outlet (AC 100-240V, 50/60Hz). The unit will power on and the display will illuminate.

2. Battery Backup Installation

For time and alarm settings backup during power outages, install one 3V battery (type not specified, typically CR2032) into the battery compartment located on the bottom of the unit. Ensure correct polarity (+/-). Note: The display will not illuminate when operating solely on battery backup; it only preserves settings.

3. Initial Time Setting

Upon first power-up or after a complete power loss without battery backup, the time display may flash. Refer to the "Setting the Time" section under Operating Instructions to set the current time.

Operating Instructions

Setting the Time

  1. Press and hold the TIME SET button. The hour digits will flash.
  2. Use the HOUR button to adjust the hour.
  3. Press the TIME SET button again. The minute digits will flash.
  4. Use the MINUTE button to adjust the minutes.
  5. Press the TIME SET button once more to confirm and exit time setting mode.

Setting Alarms (Alarm 1 & Alarm 2)

The RS-134 features two independent alarms.

  1. Press and hold the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button. The alarm hour digits will flash.
  2. Use the HOUR button to set the desired alarm hour.
  3. Press the respective ALARM button again. The alarm minute digits will flash.
  4. Use the MINUTE button to set the desired alarm minutes.
  5. Press the respective ALARM button once more to confirm.
  6. To activate the alarm, press the ALARM 1 ON/OFF or ALARM 2 ON/OFF button until the alarm indicator appears on the display. Press repeatedly to cycle through alarm modes (e.g., Radio, Buzzer, Off).

Using the FM Radio

  1. Press the RADIO ON/OFF button to turn on the radio.
  2. Press the TUNE + or TUNE - buttons to manually tune to a desired FM frequency.
  3. Press and hold TUNE + or TUNE - for automatic scanning to the next available station.
  4. Adjust the volume using the VOLUME + or VOLUME - buttons.
  5. To turn off the radio, press the RADIO ON/OFF button again.

Snooze Function

When an alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE button to temporarily silence it for a few minutes (default snooze time is usually 9 minutes, refer to product specifics for exact duration). The alarm will sound again after the snooze period.

Display Brightness Control

Press the DIMMER button (or similar, check unit for exact label) repeatedly to cycle through different display brightness levels (e.g., High, Medium, Low, Off). This allows adjustment for various lighting conditions.

Sleep Timer

To set the radio to turn off automatically after a set period, press the SLEEP button repeatedly to select the desired sleep timer duration (e.g., 10, 30, 60, 90 minutes). The radio will play for the selected duration and then turn off.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.

Battery Replacement

If the battery backup function fails during a power outage, replace the 3V battery in the compartment on the bottom of the unit. Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
