1. Product Overview
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Ski-Doo OEM Handlebar Wind Deflector Hand Guard Mirror Kit, Model 860200893. This kit is designed to integrate seamlessly with your snowmobile's existing handguards, offering enhanced rear visibility and the convenience of foldable mirrors.
The kit includes a pair of mirrors that are engineered for durability and functionality in various riding conditions. When not in use, the mirrors can be folded away to prevent damage or for easier storage and covering of the vehicle.
2. Safety Information
Always prioritize safety when installing and operating accessories on your snowmobile. Read all instructions thoroughly before beginning installation. If you are unsure about any step, consult a qualified technician.
- Ensure the snowmobile is turned off and cooled down before installation.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, during installation.
- Verify that all components are securely fastened after installation and before operating the snowmobile.
- Regularly inspect mirrors for damage or loose fittings, especially after impacts or rough terrain use.
- Be aware that these mirrors are designed to assist with rear visibility and should not replace direct observation or safe riding practices.

4. Installation Instructions
Installation of the Ski-Doo Handlebar Mirror Kit requires careful attention to detail. It is recommended to perform this installation in a well-lit area with the necessary tools readily available.
4.1 Required Tools (Not Included):
- Drill
- Assorted drill bits (start with a small pilot bit and gradually increase size)
- Torx or Hex key set (depending on existing handguard fasteners)
- Safety glasses
4.2 Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Snowmobile: Ensure the snowmobile is parked on a stable, level surface with the engine off and cool.
- Remove Handguards: For easier and more precise installation, it is recommended to remove the existing handlebar handguards from the snowmobile. Refer to your snowmobile's owner's manual for specific handguard removal instructions.
- Identify Mounting Points: The Ski-Doo handguards often have recessed marks indicating the precise locations for drilling. Carefully identify these points on both the left and right handguards.
- Drill Pilot Holes: Using a small drill bit, carefully drill pilot holes at the identified mounting points. Ensure the drill bit is centered to prevent the hole from drifting.
- Enlarge Holes: Gradually increase the size of the drill bit, working your way up to the required diameter for the mirror mounting hardware. This gradual approach helps maintain accuracy and prevents damage to the handguard material. There are typically two different size holes required for each mirror.
- Attach Mirrors: Align the mirror assemblies with the newly drilled holes on the handguards. Secure the mirrors using the provided integrated fasteners. Ensure they are snug but do not overtighten, which could strip threads or crack the plastic.
- Reinstall Handguards: Once both mirrors are securely attached to their respective handguards, reinstall the handguards onto the snowmobile's handlebars.
- Final Check: Before operation, visually inspect both mirrors and handguards to ensure they are firmly attached and do not interfere with steering or other controls.

5. Operating Instructions
The Ski-Doo Handlebar Mirrors are designed for simple operation and adjustment.
- Adjustment: The mirror lens can be manually adjusted to provide the optimal viewing angle for the rider. Gently pivot the mirror surface within its housing until the desired rearward view is achieved.
- Folding Mechanism: These mirrors feature a foldable design. To fold the mirrors away, gently push them inward towards the handguard. This is useful for storage, covering the vehicle, or navigating tight spaces. To return them to the operational position, gently pull them outward until they click into place.
- Visibility: While compact, these mirrors are effective for monitoring traffic or other riders behind you. They are particularly useful for identifying headlights or the general presence of other snowmobiles.

6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your mirrors.
- Cleaning: Clean the mirror surfaces with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the mirror coating or plastic housing.
- Inspection: Periodically check the mounting points and the folding mechanism for any signs of wear, damage, or looseness. Tighten any loose fasteners as needed.
- Storage: When storing the snowmobile for extended periods, ensure the mirrors are folded in to protect them from accidental impact.
7. Troubleshooting
- Issue: Mirror view is blurry or vibrates excessively.
Solution: Ensure all mounting hardware is securely tightened. Excessive vibration can sometimes be inherent to snowmobile operation, but loose components can exacerbate it. Check for any cracks in the handguard or mirror housing that might contribute to instability.
- Issue: Mirrors feel too small for adequate visibility.
Solution: These mirrors are designed to be compact and integrate with handguards. While they provide essential rear awareness, they may not offer the wide field of view of larger, traditional mirrors. Adjust the mirror angle to maximize the visible area. Remember to always perform head checks for a comprehensive view of your surroundings.
- Issue: Mirror does not fold smoothly or stays in position.
Solution: Inspect the folding mechanism for any obstructions or debris. Clean the area if necessary. If the mechanism is stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the pivot points, avoiding contact with the mirror surface.
