1. Introduction

The Salus KL06 Terminal Strip provides a secure and efficient connection solution for thermostats and servomotors within heating and cooling systems. Designed for ease of use, it allows for tool-free connection of Salus room thermostats and servomotors, streamlining installation processes. Integrated LED indicators offer real-time operational status, while an integrated fuse protects against overvoltage, ensuring system reliability. The clear labeling field facilitates organized circuit distribution.

2. Key Features

  • Salus KL06 Terminal Strip for Servomotors.
  • Suitable for both heating and cooling systems.
  • Integrated LEDs provide clear indication of operational status.
  • Can be expanded with the optional Pump Logic module.
  • Tool-free connection for Salus room thermostats and servomotors.
  • Integrated overvoltage protection fuse.

3. Setup and Installation

This section outlines the general steps for installing and connecting your Salus KL06 Terminal Strip. For detailed wiring diagrams, please refer to the product packaging or manufacturer's website.

3.1 Mounting the Terminal Strip

3.2 Electrical Connections

The KL06 terminal strip is designed for tool-free connection of Salus room thermostats and servomotors. Ensure all power is disconnected before making any electrical connections.

  1. Power Supply: Connect the main power supply (L and N) to the designated terminals on the strip.
  2. Thermostat Connections: Connect your Salus room thermostats to the corresponding input terminals. Each zone (1-6) has dedicated connections.
  3. Servomotor Connections: Connect the servomotors for each heating/cooling zone to their respective output terminals.
  4. Labeling: Utilize the integrated labeling field to clearly identify each circuit for easy maintenance and troubleshooting.

4. Operation

Once properly installed and powered, the Salus KL06 Terminal Strip operates by receiving signals from connected thermostats and controlling the servomotors accordingly.

4.1 LED Indicators

The integrated LEDs provide visual feedback on the operational status of each zone and the overall unit. Refer to the specific LED patterns and colors in your product's detailed manual for precise interpretation.

4.2 Heating and Cooling Modes

The terminal strip can be configured for either heating or cooling applications, depending on the signal received from the connected controller. Ensure your system's controller is set to the desired mode.

5. Maintenance

The Salus KL06 Terminal Strip is designed for minimal maintenance. The primary maintenance task involves checking and replacing the integrated fuse if necessary.

5.1 Fuse Replacement

The terminal strip includes an integrated fuse for overvoltage protection. If the unit ceases to function, check the fuse. To replace the fuse:

  1. Disconnect Power: Always disconnect the main power supply to the terminal strip before attempting any maintenance.
  2. Locate Fuse: The fuse slot is clearly marked on the unit (refer to Figure 1 and 2).
  3. Remove Old Fuse: Carefully remove the old fuse.
  4. Insert New Fuse: Insert a new fuse of the correct type and rating (e.g., T2A, as indicated on the unit). Using an incorrect fuse can damage the unit or void the warranty.
  5. Restore Power: Once the new fuse is securely in place, restore power and check for proper operation.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Salus KL06 Terminal Strip, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power: Check the main power supply and ensure the fuse is intact. Replace the fuse if blown (see Section 5.1).
  • Zone Not Responding: Verify the thermostat connection for that specific zone. Check the servomotor connection and ensure it is functioning correctly. Observe the LED indicators for any error signals.
  • Incorrect Operation (Heating/Cooling): Ensure the connected controller is sending the correct signals for the desired mode.
  • All Zones Malfunctioning: This often indicates a power supply issue or a blown main fuse.

If problems persist after performing these checks, please contact Salus Controls customer support.
