2. Important Safety Information
Always follow basic precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons.
- Read all instructions before using this fireplace.
- This fireplace is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the fireplace.
- Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the fireplace is left operating and unattended.
- Do not operate any fireplace with a damaged cord or plug, or if the heater malfunctions, has been dropped, or damaged in any manner.
- Do not use outdoors.
- To disconnect the fireplace, turn controls to off, then remove the plug from the outlet.
- Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the fireplace.
- Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
- This fireplace is designed with cool-to-touch glass for enhanced safety, reducing the risk of burns from direct contact with the front panel.

5. Installation
The Dimplex Prism electric fireplace offers flexible installation options to suit various room designs. It can be wall-mounted, fully recessed, or partially recessed.
5.1 General Requirements
- Ensure the installation location is structurally sound and can support the weight of the fireplace (56 lbs).
- A dedicated 120V, 15 Amp circuit is recommended for optimal performance.
- Maintain proper clearances from combustible materials as specified in Section 2.
5.2 Installation Types
Refer to the diagrams below for visual guidance on each installation method. Detailed framing instructions are included in the separate installation guide (not part of this manual) and are crucial for recessed installations.

5.3 Electrical Connection
The fireplace is designed to be plugged into a standard 120V electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is easily accessible after installation.
6. Operation
Your Dimplex Prism fireplace can be operated using the included multifunction remote control or the control panel located on the unit.
6.1 Remote Control Functions
The remote control allows for convenient adjustment of all fireplace features. Ensure 2 AA batteries are installed correctly.

- Standby ON/OFF: Powers the unit on or off.
- Flame Effects: Cycles through various flame patterns and speeds.
- Thermostat Control (+/-): Adjusts the desired room temperature.
- Color Themes: Changes the color of the LED flame and ember bed.
- Heat ON/OFF: Activates or deactivates the heating function. The flame effect can operate independently of the heat.
- Brightness: Adjusts the intensity of the flame and ember bed.
- Sleep Timer: Sets a timer for automatic shutdown.
6.2 Heating Function
The fireplace provides supplemental heat for areas up to 400 sq. ft. The heater operates independently of the flame effect, allowing you to enjoy the visual ambiance without heat during warmer periods.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your electric fireplace.
- Cleaning: Ensure the fireplace is turned off and unplugged before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sprays.
- Glass Panel: Clean the glass panel with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive glass cleaner.
- Air Intake/Outlet: Periodically check and clean the air intake and outlet vents to ensure they are free from dust and obstructions. Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment.
- Light Bulbs: The LED flame effect uses long-lasting LED technology, which typically does not require replacement.
