4. Setup and Installation

Follow these step-by-step instructions for proper installation of your sliding barn door hardware. It is recommended to have two people for certain steps.

4.1 Important Installation Notes

  • The hole spacer of the rail is 16 inches, which is suitable for standard wall studs.
  • For walls with wood studs: Use the lag bolts. Do not drill pilot holes in step 2; instead, install the lag bolts directly in step 4.
  • For concrete walls: Use the carriage bolts and anchors. Drill holes with a 3/8" drill bit to a depth of 1 9/16".
  • Ensure the door panel width is at least 2 inches wider than the opening to ensure full coverage.

4.2 Installation Steps

  1. Prepare the Door: Attach the hangers to the top edge of your door panel. Ensure they are evenly spaced and securely tightened.
  2. Determine Track Position: Measure and mark the desired height for the track on your wall. Remember to account for the 6-inch clearance needed above the top of the door. The track should be level.
  3. Mark Drilling Points: Using the track as a template, mark the drilling points for the spacers. Ensure these points align with wall studs if applicable (refer to 4.1).
  4. Install Spacers and Track:
    • For wood stud walls: Directly install the lag bolts through the track and spacers into the marked points on the studs.
    • For concrete walls: Drill the marked holes (3/8" bit, 1 9/16" depth), insert the anchors, then secure the track with the carriage bolts.

  5. Install Anti-Jumpers: Attach the anti-jumpers to the top edge of the door, above the hangers. These prevent the door from lifting off the track.
  6. Hang the Door: Carefully lift the door and place the hanger wheels onto the installed track.
  7. Install Stoppers: Slide the stoppers onto the track at both ends. Adjust their position to control the door's travel distance and tighten them securely.
  8. Install Floor Guide: Position the floor guide on the floor directly below the door's path. Mark and drill holes, then secure the guide to prevent the door from swinging out.

  • To open or close the door, gently push or pull the door panel along the track.
  • The premium nylon wheels and superior quality bearings ensure a quiet and effortless glide.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and smooth operation of your barn door hardware.

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the track and hangers periodically with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Lubrication: If the door's movement becomes less smooth over time, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the track and wheel bearings. Do not use oil-based lubricants as they can attract dust.
  • Fastener Check: Periodically check all screws and bolts to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten if necessary.
  • Stopper Adjustment: Ensure the stoppers are still firmly in place and effectively limiting the door's travel. Adjust if they have shifted.
