2. Safety Information
Always read and understand all safety information before installing, operating, or maintaining this product. Failure to do so may result in injury or damage to the product.
- Power Source: Connect the unit only to a grounded power outlet with the correct voltage (120 VAC, 60 Hz).
- Fluid Type: Use only CHAUVET DJ FJU, HDF, or QDF water-based fog fluid. Using other fluid types may damage the unit and void the warranty.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the machine. Do not block ventilation openings.
- Hot Surface: The fog machine's nozzle and surrounding areas become very hot during operation. Avoid contact. Maintain a safe distance of at least 200cm (approximately 79 inches) from the fog output nozzle.
- Placement: Place the machine on a stable, flat surface. Do not operate on an incline.
- Fluid Spills: In case of fluid spills, immediately disconnect power and clean thoroughly. Fog fluid can be slippery.
- Indoor Use Only: This product is intended for indoor use only.
- Supervision: Do not leave the machine unattended during operation.
- Proposition 65 Warning: This product may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

4. Setup
4.1. Fluid Installation
- Ensure the fog machine is unplugged from the power source.
- Unscrew the cap of the fluid tank located on top of the unit.
- Carefully pour CHAUVET DJ water-based fog fluid into the tank. Do not overfill.
- Securely screw the cap back onto the fluid tank.
- Ensure the fluid pickup tube inside the tank is fully submerged in the fluid.
4.2. Remote Connection
- Locate the "REMOTE" input port on the back panel of the fog machine.
- Connect the cable from the included timer remote (FCT) to this port. Ensure a secure connection.

5. Operation
5.1. Powering On and Heat-up
- Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
- The unit will begin its initial heat-up cycle. The LED in the fluid tank will illuminate to indicate heating status.
- The initial heat-up time is approximately 2 minutes. Once ready, the LED will change color (refer to remote manual for specific color indications) and the machine will be ready to produce fog.
5.2. Fog Output Control (Timer Remote FCT)
The included FCT timer remote provides various modes of operation:
- Manual Fog Button: Press and hold the "FOG" button on the remote for instant fog output. Release to stop.
- Timer Mode: Use the timer controls on the remote to set the duration of fog bursts and the interval between bursts. This allows for automated, precise fog delivery.
- Variable Output Control: The remote features a knob or slider to adjust the intensity and volume of the fog output. Adjust as needed for desired effect.

5.3. Advanced Fluid Sensor
The Hurricane 1200 is equipped with an advanced fluid sensor that automatically shuts off the pump when fluid levels are low. This feature protects the pump from overheating and damage. Refill the fluid tank promptly when the sensor indicates low fluid.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your fog machine.
6.1. Cleaning
- Exterior: Clean the exterior of the machine with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Fluid System: To prevent clogs and ensure proper operation, periodically run a cleaning solution through the machine. Consult CHAUVET DJ's official cleaning fluid recommendations or use a mixture of 80% distilled water and 20% white vinegar. Run this solution through the machine until the tank is empty.
- Nozzle: Ensure the fog output nozzle is clear of any debris or residue.
6.2. Storage
- Before storing, ensure the fluid tank is empty and the machine has cooled completely.
- It is recommended to run a cleaning solution through the machine before long-term storage to prevent fluid residue from hardening in the pump or heater.
- Store the machine in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
