1. Introduction

2. What's Included

3. Safety Guidelines

Adhering to these safety guidelines is crucial for preventing injury and damage to the quadcopter.

  • Age Recommendation: This product is recommended for pilots 15 years of age and older.
  • Flight Environment: Fly in open areas, away from people, animals, buildings, and power lines. Avoid flying near airports or restricted airspace.
  • Weather Conditions: Do not fly in strong winds, rain, or other adverse weather conditions.
  • Pre-Flight Check: Always inspect the quadcopter for any damage before each flight. Ensure propellers are securely attached and undamaged.
  • Battery Safety: Use only the provided battery and charger. Do not overcharge or puncture the battery. Disconnect the battery after use.
  • Propeller Hazard: Keep hands, face, and loose clothing away from rotating propellers.
  • Line of Sight: Always maintain visual line of sight with your quadcopter during flight.
  • FAA Registration: You may fly this model aircraft without registering with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as it weighs below 0.55 pounds. Registration is required only when piloting recreational, unmanned aircraft weighing above 0.55 pounds.

4. Setup

4.1. Charging the Flight Battery

  1. Connect the USB charger to a powered USB port (e.g., computer, USB wall adapter).
  2. Connect the 3.7V 850mAh LiPo flight battery to the USB charger.
  3. The charger's LED indicator will show the charging status (refer to charger instructions for specific light patterns).
  4. Once charging is complete, disconnect the battery from the charger.

4.2. Installing Transmitter Batteries

  1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the MR100 transmitter.
  2. Insert the 4 "AAA" alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment securely.

4.3. Binding the Transmitter and Quadcopter

The transmitter and quadcopter are typically pre-bound from the factory. If re-binding is necessary:

  1. Ensure the quadcopter's flight battery is disconnected and the transmitter is off.
  2. Turn on the transmitter.
  3. Connect the flight battery to the quadcopter. The quadcopter's LEDs will flash.
  4. Within a few seconds, the quadcopter's LEDs should become solid, indicating a successful bind.
  5. If binding fails, repeat the steps.

5. Operating the Quadcopter

5.1. Basic Controls (MR100 Transmitter)

  • Left Stick (Throttle/Yaw): Up/Down controls altitude. Left/Right controls yaw (rotation around vertical axis).
  • Right Stick (Pitch/Roll): Up/Down controls pitch (forward/backward movement). Left/Right controls roll (sideways movement).
  • Trim Buttons: Used to fine-tune the quadcopter's hover stability. Adjust if the quadcopter drifts without stick input.
  • Auto-Flip Button: Press this button to execute an automatic flip maneuver.

5.2. Flight Modes

The MR100 transmitter offers four flight modes to customize the quadcopter's response:

  • Easy: Reduced control sensitivity for beginners.
  • Normal: Moderate control sensitivity.
  • Advanced: Increased control sensitivity for more experienced pilots.
  • Expert: Maximum control sensitivity for advanced maneuvers.

Refer to the transmitter's sound and light cues to confirm the selected flight mode.

5.3. First Flight Tips

  • Start in a large, open area with no obstacles.
  • Begin with the 'Easy' flight mode.
  • Practice gentle throttle control to achieve a stable hover.
  • Familiarize yourself with the orientation of the quadcopter (front, back, left, right) before attempting complex maneuvers. The LED lights assist with this.
  • When the quadcopter's LEDs begin to flash, it indicates low battery voltage. Land immediately.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning

Regularly clean your quadcopter with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using solvents or harsh chemicals.

6.2. Propeller Replacement

If a propeller becomes damaged, replace it with a new one from the extra set provided. Ensure the correct propeller type (A or B, typically marked on the propeller and motor arm) is installed on the corresponding motor. Incorrect propeller installation can prevent stable flight.

6.3. Storage

Store the quadcopter and its components in a cool, dry place. Disconnect the flight battery from the quadcopter and remove batteries from the transmitter during long-term storage.
