Important Safeguards

Before First Use

Before using your slow cooker for the first time, follow these steps:

  1. Remove all packaging materials and labels.
  2. Wash the stoneware pot and glass lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  3. Wipe the exterior of the heating base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the heating base in water or any other liquid.
  4. Ensure all parts are completely dry before assembly and use.

Setup

Setting up your slow cooker is straightforward:

  1. Place the heating base on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.
  2. Insert the stoneware pot into the heating base.
  3. Add your ingredients to the stoneware pot.
  4. Place the glass lid securely on top of the stoneware pot.
  5. Ensure the control knob is in the "OFF" position before plugging the unit into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

The MST-275XS Slow Cooker features three temperature settings for versatile cooking.

  • OFF: Turns the slow cooker off.
  • LOW: Ideal for slow cooking over a longer period, typically 6-8 hours. This setting is suitable for less tender cuts of meat and dishes requiring extended cooking.
  • HIGH: Cooks food faster than the LOW setting, typically in 3-4 hours. Use this setting for dishes that require quicker cooking or when you need to bring food to temperature more rapidly.
  • WARM: Maintains food at a serving temperature after cooking is complete. This setting is not for cooking raw food.

General Cooking Tips:

  • Always ensure the lid is securely in place during cooking to retain heat and moisture.
  • Avoid lifting the lid frequently, as this can extend cooking times.
  • Cooking times are approximate and may vary based on ingredients and desired doneness.
  • For best results, fill the stoneware pot between half and two-thirds full.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Proper cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity of your slow cooker.

  1. Always unplug the slow cooker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. The stoneware pot and glass lid are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, they can be washed by hand in warm, soapy water.
  3. To clean the exterior of the heating base, wipe with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Never immerse the heating base in water or any other liquid.
  4. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads on any part of the slow cooker, as this may damage the finish.
