1. Introduction
The Panasonic Smart Home Human Motion Sensor KX-HJS200-W is a component of the Panasonic Smart Home System, designed to enhance home security and monitoring. This sensor detects movement by identifying changes in infrared radiation emitted by objects with temperature, such as people or animals. When motion is detected, the sensor can send notifications to your smartphone via the dedicated 'Home Network' application, provided it is connected to a home unit and your wireless LAN environment.
This manual provides essential information for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your KX-HJS200-W Human Motion Sensor.

3.3 Pairing with Home Unit
Follow the instructions provided with your Panasonic Smart Home System Home Unit and the 'Home Network' application to pair the KX-HJS200-W sensor. Up to 50 sensors (including door/window sensors) can be registered to a single home unit.
3.4 Mounting the Sensor
The sensor can be wall-mounted using the included wall mount adapter and screws. Choose a location where the sensor has an unobstructed view of the area you wish to monitor. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources that may cause false detections.
4. Operating the Sensor
4.1 Sensitivity Adjustment
The sensor features a sensitivity switch on its side, allowing you to adjust its detection range. Set it to 'High Sensitivity' for broader detection or 'Low Sensitivity' to reduce false alarms in busy areas.

4.2 Receiving Notifications
Once paired and configured through the 'Home Network' app, the sensor will send notifications to your smartphone when motion is detected. Notifications can be configured to activate during 'Home' or 'Away' security modes. When connecting from outside your home, standard smartphone data charges may apply.
The system can also be configured to record approximately 30 seconds of video from a connected camera when the motion sensor is triggered.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Wipe the sensor's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or strong detergents, as these can damage the device.
5.2 Battery Replacement
When the battery level is low, the sensor will indicate this, and the 'Home Network' app will notify you. Replace both AAA alkaline batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Refer to section 3.2 for battery installation instructions.
6. Troubleshooting
- No Notifications:
- Check if the sensor is properly paired with the home unit.
- Ensure the 'Home Network' app is installed and configured correctly on your smartphone.
- Verify your smartphone has an active internet connection.
- Check the sensor's battery level.
- Confirm that the security mode (Home/Away) is set to allow notifications.
- False Detections:
- Adjust the sensitivity switch to 'Low Sensitivity'.
- Relocate the sensor away from direct sunlight, heating vents, or areas with frequent temperature fluctuations.
- Ensure the sensor is not pointing at moving objects like curtains or pets.
- Sensor Not Detecting Movement:
- Check the sensor's battery level.
- Ensure the sensor's view is not obstructed.
- Adjust the sensitivity switch to 'High Sensitivity'.
- Verify the sensor is within range of the home unit.
- App Connectivity Issues:
- Ensure your home unit is connected to the internet via a 2.4 GHz wireless router with UPnP enabled and a global IPv4 address.
- Check for updates to your smartphone's OS and the 'Home Network' application.
