Setup

Attaching the Lens

1. Ensure both the camera and lens are powered off.
2. Remove the rear lens cap and the camera body cap.
3. Align the red index mark on the lens with the red index mark on the camera body.
4. Insert the lens into the camera mount and turn it clockwise until it clicks into place.

Detaching the Lens

1. Ensure the camera is powered off.
2. While pressing the lens release button on the camera body, turn the lens counter-clockwise until it stops.
3. Remove the lens from the camera.
4. Attach the rear lens cap to protect the rear element.

Attaching a Lens Hood (Sold Separately)

Align the red dot on the lens hood with the red dot on the front of the lens, then turn the hood clockwise until it clicks into place. To remove, press the release button on the hood and turn counter-clockwise.

Operating the Lens

Autofocus (AF) / Manual Focus (MF) Switch

The lens features an AF/MF switch to select the focusing mode. Set the switch to 'AF' for automatic focusing or 'MF' for manual focusing. When in 'AF' mode, you can still manually adjust focus by turning the focusing ring (Full-Time Manual Focus).

Focusing Ring

In 'MF' mode, rotate the focusing ring to adjust the focus. The focus distance scale on the lens barrel indicates the current focus distance in meters and feet.

Aperture Control

The aperture is controlled electronically via the camera body. Refer to your camera's instruction manual for details on setting the aperture (f-number).

Maintenance

Cleaning the Lens

• Use a blower brush to remove dust from the lens surface.
• For smudges or fingerprints, use a clean, soft lens cloth specifically designed for optical surfaces. Apply a small amount of lens cleaning solution to the cloth, not directly to the lens.
• Never use organic solvents such as paint thinner or benzene to clean the lens.
