Winding the Bobbin

Threading the Machine
- Raise the presser foot lifter.
- Place the thread spool on the spool pin.
- Follow the numbered threading path on your machine, ensuring the thread passes through all guides and the tension discs.
- Thread the needle from front to back.
- Insert the wound bobbin into the bobbin case according to your machine's specific instructions (top-loading or front-loading).
- Bring the bobbin thread up through the needle plate opening.
Operating Instructions
Basic Stitching
- Select the desired stitch pattern using the stitch selector dial.
- Adjust the stitch length and width as needed.
- Place the fabric under the presser foot, aligning the edge with a seam guide.
- Lower the presser foot.
- Gently press the foot pedal to begin sewing. Guide the fabric smoothly.
- To finish, raise the needle to its highest position, raise the presser foot, and pull the fabric away. Cut the threads.
Changing Needles
- Turn off and unplug the machine.
- Loosen the needle clamp screw.
- Remove the old needle.
- Insert a new needle with the flat side facing the back of the machine, pushing it up as far as it will go.
- Tighten the needle clamp screw securely.
Adjusting Tension
Proper tension is crucial for balanced stitches. Adjust the tension dial if stitches are too loose or too tight.
- If the top thread lies flat on the fabric and the bobbin thread shows on top, the top tension is too tight. Decrease the tension number.
- If the bobbin thread lies flat on the fabric and the top thread shows on the bottom, the top tension is too loose. Increase the tension number.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Machine
Regular cleaning prevents lint and dust buildup, ensuring smooth operation.
- Unplug the machine before cleaning.
- Remove the needle plate and bobbin case.
- Use a small brush to remove lint from the feed dogs and bobbin area.
- Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth.
