Setup

  1. Unpack the Appliance: Carefully remove the FoodSaver FFS013X-01 from its packaging. Remove any protective materials.

Vacuum Sealing Bags

This appliance features hands-free operation with automatic vacuum and seal control, and two sealing levels for dry or moist food.

  1. Prepare the Bag: Place the food item into a FoodSaver vacuum seal bag. Ensure there is at least 7-10 cm (3-4 inches) of space between the food and the top of the bag. For moist foods, ensure the drip tray is clean and properly inserted.
  2. Position the Bag: Open the lid of the appliance. Place the open end of the bag into the vacuum channel. Ensure the bag lies flat and smooth across the sealing strip.

  4. Close and Lock: Close the lid firmly until you hear a click, indicating it is locked.
  5. Select Sealing Level (if applicable): If your model has a dry/moist food setting, select the appropriate option. For delicate items, you can use the instant seal function to stop vacuuming and start sealing manually.
  6. Start Vacuum and Seal: Press the 'Vacuum & Seal' button. The appliance will automatically remove air from the bag and then create an airtight seal. Indicators on the control panel will show the progress.

  8. Release and Remove: Once the process is complete, the vacuum and seal cycle will stop automatically. Open the lid and remove your perfectly sealed bag.

Using the Accessory Port

The accessory port allows you to vacuum seal FoodSaver canisters, zipper bags, and other accessories.

  1. Prepare Accessory: Place food into the FoodSaver canister or accessory. Ensure the lid is properly secured.
  2. Connect Hose: Insert one end of the accessory hose (sold separately) into the accessory port on the appliance and the other end into the port on the canister/accessory.
  3. Start Vacuum: Press the 'Accessory' button (or 'Vacuum' if labeled differently). The appliance will remove air from the accessory.
  4. Disconnect: Once vacuuming is complete, the appliance will stop automatically. Remove the hose from both the appliance and the accessory.

Maintenance and Cleaning

  • Drip Tray: The removable drip tray is dishwasher-safe. For manual cleaning, wash with warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely before reinserting.
