General Installation Steps

1. Step 1: Insert Water Line into Adapter. Take one of the 1/4" Quick Connect Water Line Adapters. Insert one end of the 1/4" NSF Certified Water Line firmly into the adapter until it seats securely.
2. Step 2: Connect Adapter to Water Source. Connect the adapter with the inserted water line to your refrigerator's or icemaker's water source. Ensure a tight and leak-free connection.
3. Step 3: Attach Adapter to Appliance. Run the water line to your refrigerator or icemaker. Attach the second 1/4" Quick Connect Water Line Adapter to the end of the water line that will connect to your appliance.
4. Step 4: Optional Tee Adapter Use. Your kit includes a 1/4" x 1/4" x 1/4" Quick Connect Tee Fitting. This can be used in place of the second 1/4" adapter if you wish to connect to your refrigerator's water line and also branch off for another appliance or filter.

Quick-Connect Fitting Instructions

Understanding how to properly use the quick-connect fittings is crucial for a leak-free installation. These fittings allow for easy insertion and removal of the tubing without tools.

• Make a clean cut: Ensure the end of the water line tubing is cut smoothly and squarely. Remove any burrs or debris. A clean cut is essential for a proper seal.
• Insert tube into fitting: Push your water line tube through the collet (the outer ring) as far as possible into the fitting. The collet will hold the line in place, and internal O-rings will create a tight seal. Ensure the tube is fully seated.
• Test & Inspect: Slowly turn on the water supply. Carefully examine all connections for any signs of leaks. If a leak occurs, turn off the water, re-do the connection, ensuring the tube is fully inserted and cut cleanly. Check your water pressure to ensure it's within acceptable limits for your appliance.
• Removing your water line: To remove the water line, first ensure your water supply is turned off. Press down on the opposite sides of the collet (the outer ring) while simultaneously pulling the water line out. A slight push inward on the line before pressing the collet and pulling out can help release the grip.

Operating and Maintenance

Once installed, the water line kit operates passively, providing water to your connected appliance. Regular maintenance is minimal but important for longevity.

• Initial Operation: After installation, slowly turn on the water supply and check all connections for leaks. Allow water to flow through the system for a few minutes to flush out any air or manufacturing residue before connecting to your appliance's internal system (e.g., ice maker).
• Leak Checks: Periodically inspect all connections for any signs of leaks, especially after moving the appliance or if water pressure fluctuates. Address any leaks immediately by re-seating the tubing or checking the fittings.
