6. Installation (Setup)
- Preparation: Ensure the pressure washer engine is off and cool. Gather necessary tools (wrenches, oil).
- Mounting Orientation: This pump is designed for horizontal mounting. The oil cap must point upwards. The pump head cannot be flipped.
- Engine Horsepower: Verify your pressure washer's engine provides a minimum of 5 HP for effective pump operation. A 6.5 GHP engine is recommended.
- Shaft and Keyway: Carefully align the pump's hollow shaft with the engine's drive shaft. Insert the provided keyway (refer to Figure 2) into the shaft slot to secure the pump to the engine.
- Bolt Pattern: Secure the pump to the engine using the appropriate bolts. Refer to the bolt pattern diagram for correct alignment (2 5/8" center to center and 1 7/8" center to each outer hole).

- Oil Filling: Before first use, fill the pump with 75 ml (2.5 oz) of 85W-90 gear oil. Use the sight glass to verify the correct oil level. The oil is NOT included.
- Connections:
- Connect a standard garden hose to the inlet connection.
- Connect your pressure washer hose to the 22mm male outlet connection.
- If using a quick-connect system, the brass outlet tube MUST be removed before attaching the quick-connect fitting.
- Shipping Cap: Remove the yellow shipping cap from the oil tank after installation. This cap is for shipping purposes only.
7. Operating Instructions
- Check Oil Level: Before each use, ensure the pump oil level is correct using the sight glass.
- Water Supply: Connect the garden hose to a reliable water source and turn on the water fully.
- Purge Air: Squeeze the trigger on the spray gun to purge air from the pump and hose until a steady stream of water emerges.
- Start Engine: Start the pressure washer engine according to its manufacturer's instructions.
- Operation: Begin cleaning. The integrated chemical injector allows for detergent application when needed.
- After Use: Turn off the engine, turn off the water supply, and squeeze the spray gun trigger to relieve any remaining pressure in the system.
Note on Oil Cap: During operation, some oil misting may occur from the oil tank opening. If desired, a small hole can be drilled into the yellow shipping cap (after removing it for initial use) and then re-installed to allow ventilation while minimizing misting.
8. Maintenance
- Oil Changes: Regularly check the oil level using the sight glass. Change the 85W-90 gear oil as recommended by your pressure washer's engine manual or after extended use. A drain plug is provided for simplified oil changes.
- Filter Cleaning: Periodically inspect and clean the inlet filter to prevent debris from entering the pump.
- Storage: When storing the pressure washer for extended periods or in freezing temperatures, ensure the pump is drained of all water or treated with a pump protector to prevent damage. Store in a dry, protected area.
- Thermal Release Valve: The thermal release valve is pre-installed and designed to protect the pump from overheating. Ensure it is not obstructed.
9. Troubleshooting
- Low Pressure:
- Check for adequate water supply and ensure the garden hose is fully open.
- Inspect the inlet filter for clogs.
- Check the spray nozzle for wear or obstruction.
- Ensure the unloader valve is functioning correctly and not stuck.
- Water Leaks:
- Inspect all hose connections and fittings for tightness.
- Check O-rings and seals for damage and replace if necessary.
- No Water Flow:
- Verify the water supply is on and the hose is not kinked.
- Check for air in the system; prime the pump by running water through it with the engine off until all air is expelled.
- Pump Not Engaging / Engine Stalling:
- Ensure the engine is running at the correct RPM.
- Confirm the engine has sufficient horsepower (minimum 5 HP) to drive the pump.
