2. Important Safety Information
WARNING:
- Do not install the heating mat if the wire is damaged. This could cause an electrical hazard.
- Always use the GFCI protected thermostat to prevent electrical shock.
3. Setup and Installation
The Warming Systems Electric Radiant Floor Heating Mat is designed for straightforward installation. It includes a 90 square foot mat (20" wide x 54' long, consisting of two mats that connect at the thermostat), a UDG4-4999 Touch Screen GFCI Protected Digital Programmable Thermostat with a floor sensor, and an Installation Warning Monitor (which alarms if the wire is damaged during installation).

3.2 Sizing and Layout Guidelines
When planning your installation, ensure proper clearances and avoid cutting the red heating wire. The white fiberglass mesh can be cut to facilitate turning and shaping the mat.
- Maintain at least 2" from walls and fixtures.
- Maintain at least 6" to the center of a toilet wax ring.
- Maintain at least 3" from HVAC vents or other heating appliances.
- Heating systems must be fully covered with mortar or self-leveling compound.
- The wire can be removed from the mesh and laid loose on the floor using hot glue for specific areas, such as around a toilet.
