The ASTON SIMBA HD Premium is a high-definition satellite receiver designed to provide access to TNTSAT services via the ASTRA satellite, including 3D compatible content. It is also CANAL READY labeled, allowing access to CANAL+ and CANALSAT offers with a valid subscription.

4.1 Front Panel

5. Setup
5.1 Initial Connections
- Connect Satellite Cable: Connect the satellite cable from your LNB to the "LNB IN" port on the rear panel of the receiver.
- Connect to TV:
- For HD quality, connect an HDMI cable from the receiver's "HDMI" port to an available HDMI input on your television.
- Alternatively, for standard definition, connect RCA cables (yellow for video, red/white for audio) from the receiver's "VIDEO" and "AUDIO L/R" ports to your TV's corresponding inputs.
- Insert TNTSAT Card: Carefully insert the provided TNTSAT access card into the Viaccess smart card slot on the rear panel, ensuring the chip faces downwards and the card is fully inserted.
- Connect Power: Connect the power adapter to the "DC 12V 2.5A" input on the receiver and then plug it into a wall outlet.
- Network Connection (Optional): If desired, connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the "ETHERNET" port on the receiver.
5.2 First Time Installation
Upon first power-on, the receiver will automatically guide you through the initial setup process.
- Language Selection: Select your preferred language using the remote control and confirm.
- Automatic Configuration: The receiver features automatic configuration. Follow the on-screen prompts to scan for available satellite channels (ASTRA). This process may take several minutes.
- Time Zone: Set your local time zone.
- Parental Control PIN: You may be prompted to set up a Parental Control PIN. Remember this PIN for future use.
- Once the scan is complete, the receiver will display the first available channel.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: Press the POWER button on the remote control or the front panel.
- Channel Selection: Use the CH+/CH- buttons to change channels sequentially, or enter the channel number directly using the numeric keypad.
- Volume Control: Use the VOL+/VOL- buttons to adjust the volume.
- Menu Access: Press the MENU button to access the main menu for settings and features.
- Electronic Program Guide (EPG): Press the EPG button to view the program schedule for current and upcoming broadcasts.
- Teletext/Subtitles: Use the dedicated TEXT and SUBTITLE buttons to access these features if available on the broadcast.
6.2 USB Recording and Timeshift
The receiver supports recording programs and Timeshift functionality via a connected USB storage device.
- Connect USB Device: Insert a formatted USB drive (FAT32 or NTFS) into the USB port on the rear panel.
- Instant Recording: While watching a program, press the REC button on the remote control to start recording. Press STOP to end.
- Scheduled Recording: Access the EPG, select a program, and choose the option to schedule a recording. Up to 8 recordings can be programmed.
- Timeshift (Direct Différé): Press the PAUSE button during live TV to activate Timeshift. You can then pause, rewind, or fast-forward live broadcasts.
- Recorded programs can be accessed via the Media Player menu.
6.3 Favorite Lists
You can create up to 6 personalized favorite lists to quickly access your preferred channels.
- Go to the main MENU and navigate to "Channel Management" or "Favorite Lists".
- Select an empty favorite list and add channels from the main channel list.
- Save your changes. You can then switch between favorite lists using a dedicated button on the remote (if available) or through the menu.
6.4 Parental Control
The parental control feature allows you to restrict access to certain channels or programs based on age ratings.
- Access the "Parental Control" section in the main MENU.
- Enter your PIN (set during initial setup).
- Configure age restrictions or block specific channels as desired.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Software Updates
The receiver supports software updates downloadable via satellite to ensure optimal performance and access to the latest features.
- Go to the main MENU and navigate to "System Settings" or "Software Update".
- Select the option to check for updates via satellite.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install any available updates. Do not power off the receiver during the update process.
7.2 Cleaning
