It is also intended for muscle stimulation.

  • Do not use this device if you have a pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, or other implanted metallic or electronic device.
  • Do not use this device if you are pregnant.
  • Do not use this device on areas of skin that are broken, irritated, or numb.

Product Overview

The PurePulse Duo is a dual-channel TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) and EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) device designed for pain relief and muscle stimulation. It features 14 program modes, an adjustable treatment timer, and an easy-to-read LCD screen.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Insert the 3 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Connecting Lead Wires and Electrode Pads

  1. Insert the pin connectors of the lead wires into the electrode pads. Ensure a secure connection.
  2. Plug the other end of the lead wires into the channel ports (CH1 and CH2) at the top of the PurePulse Duo device.

3. Electrode Pad Placement

Proper placement of electrode pads is crucial for effective treatment. Ensure the skin is clean and dry before applying pads. Refer to the images below for common placement areas.

  • Place pads on clean, dry, intact skin.
  • Ensure pads are at least 1 inch apart but not touching.
  • Avoid placing pads directly over joints or bony prominences.
  • For TENS, place pads around the area of pain. For EMS, place pads on the muscle belly you wish to stimulate.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

  • Press the ON+ button to turn the device on.
  • Press the OFF- button to turn the device off.

2. Selecting Therapy Mode (TENS/EMS) and Program

  1. After powering on, the device will display the default program.
  2. Press the MODE button to cycle through the 14 available programs. The display will show 'P1' through 'P14'.
  3. Programs P1-P8 are TENS modes for pain relief. Programs P9-P14 are EMS modes for muscle stimulation.

3. Adjusting Intensity

  • Use the ON+ button to increase the intensity for the selected channel.
  • Use the OFF- button to decrease the intensity for the selected channel.
  • The intensity level is displayed on the LCD screen. Start with the lowest intensity and gradually increase until a comfortable sensation is felt.

4. Dual Channel Operation

The PurePulse Duo allows for independent control of two channels (CH1 and CH2).

  1. Press the CH1 button to select Channel 1. You can then adjust its intensity and program independently.
  2. Press the CH2 button to select Channel 2. You can then adjust its intensity and program independently.
  3. This allows you to treat two different body areas simultaneously with different settings.

5. Setting the Treatment Timer

The device has a built-in 15-minute timer. To adjust the timer:

  • While the device is on, press and hold the MODE button for a few seconds. The timer setting will flash.
  • Use the ON+ or OFF- buttons to adjust the desired treatment time.
  • The device will automatically shut off once the timer expires.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Device

  • Turn off the device and disconnect all lead wires before cleaning.
  • Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
  • Ensure the device is completely dry before storing or next use.

2. Caring for Electrode Pads

  • After each use, place the electrode pads back onto their protective film.
  • If the pads lose their stickiness, gently wipe the adhesive surface with a damp cloth and allow to air dry. Do not use soap or alcohol.
  • Replace pads when they no longer adhere to the skin or if they cause discomfort.

3. Storage

  • Store the PurePulse Duo and its accessories in the provided storage bag in a cool, dry place.
  • Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.
