Setup Instructions
Careful assembly and connection are crucial for optimal performance and to prevent leaks. The hose reel is designed for floor use and can be placed on any flat surface.
1. Unpacking and Initial Inspection:
- Remove all components from the packaging.
- Verify that all parts are present and undamaged. The package should include the hose reel with a foldable handle and this user manual.

3. Connecting Your Garden Hose:
- Internal Connection: Locate the short internal hose connection point on the side of the reel (often a small elbow fitting). Connect one end of your main garden hose to this fitting. Ensure a tight, leak-free connection. Note: You may need an additional hose connector or adapter depending on your hose type.
- Feeder Hose Connection: To connect the reel to your water source (e.g., a spigot), you will need a separate, short feeder hose (not included). Connect one end of this feeder hose to the external inlet on the reel (usually opposite the winding handle) and the other end to your water spigot. Note: Quick connectors and additional adapters may be required for a secure setup.
- Hose Winding: Begin winding your garden hose onto the reel. Ensure the hose is evenly distributed to prevent kinking and maximize capacity.

Operating Instructions
Winding the Hose:
- Ensure the hose is free of kinks and obstructions.
- Turn the winding handle clockwise to retract the hose onto the reel.
- Guide the hose evenly across the reel to prevent tangling and ensure maximum capacity.
- Once fully wound, the foldable handle can be collapsed for compact storage.
Unwinding the Hose:
- Pull the hose gently from the reel to unwind it.
- The reel will rotate freely as the hose is pulled.
- Avoid pulling too forcefully to prevent damage to the hose or reel.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the hose reel periodically with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: Store the hose reel in a shaded area when not in use, especially during extreme weather conditions, to prolong its lifespan.
- Leak Checks: Regularly inspect all hose connections for leaks. Tighten connections or replace washers as needed.
- Hose Condition: Periodically check your garden hose for cracks, punctures, or wear. Replace damaged hoses to ensure efficient watering.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Water leaks from connections. | Loose connections, worn washers, incompatible connectors. | Tighten all connections. Replace old or damaged rubber washers. Ensure all connectors are compatible with your hose and the reel's fittings. You may need additional quick connectors or adapters. |
| Hose kinks when winding/unwinding. | Uneven winding, hose material stiffness. | Guide the hose evenly across the reel during winding. Ensure the hose is fully extended and free of twists before winding. |
| Difficulty winding the hose. | Hose is too heavy/long for capacity, internal obstruction. | Ensure your hose length and diameter are within the reel's specified capacity (30m-45m). Check for any debris or kinks preventing smooth winding. |
