Advanced Features
Target Button (Rear)
The rear-mounted target button allows for instant sensitivity adjustment of the right analog stick, useful for precise aiming in FPS games. It has three sensitivity levels:
- Level 1 (Default): Standard sensitivity.
- Level 2: Reduced sensitivity for finer aiming.
- Level 3: Further reduced sensitivity for extremely precise movements.
To cycle through sensitivity levels, press the TARGET button located on the back of the controller. The LED indicators near the "TURBO" button will show the current level.
Turbo Mode
Turbo mode enables rapid, automatic input for selected buttons when held down. This feature can be applied to face buttons (Triangle, Circle, Cross, Square), D-Pad directions, and L1/R1/L2/R2 triggers.
To activate Turbo mode for a button:
- Press and hold the TURBO button.
- While holding TURBO, press the desired button (e.g., Cross) once.
- Release both buttons. The selected button will now activate Turbo mode when held.
To deactivate Turbo mode for a button:
- Press and hold the TURBO button.
- While holding TURBO, press the button with active Turbo mode (e.g., Cross) once.
- Release both buttons. Turbo mode for that button is now off.
Button Assignment (Remapping)
The controller allows for custom remapping of certain buttons. This feature is particularly useful for optimizing controls for specific games or personal preference.
To assign a button:
- Press and hold the ASSIGN button.
- While holding ASSIGN, press the button you wish to remap (e.g., L1).
- Still holding ASSIGN, press the button whose function you want to assign to the first button (e.g., R2).
- Release all buttons. The function of R2 is now assigned to L1.
To clear a button assignment:
- Press and hold the ASSIGN button.
- While holding ASSIGN, press the button whose assignment you wish to clear (e.g., L1).
- Release both buttons. The button will revert to its default function.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the controller. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure no moisture enters the controller's internal components. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: Store the controller in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid placing heavy objects on the controller.
- Cable Care: Do not sharply bend or pull the USB cable. Always grasp the plug when disconnecting from the console.
- Avoid Drops: Protect the controller from drops and impacts, as this can damage internal components.
Troubleshooting
- Controller not responding:
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the controller and the console.
- Try connecting the controller to a different USB port on your console.
- Restart your PlayStation console.
- Test the controller on another compatible console or PC (if applicable) to determine if the issue is with the controller or the console.
- Buttons or analog sticks are not functioning correctly:
- Check if Turbo mode or Button Assignment features are accidentally activated for the affected buttons. Refer to the "Operating the Controller" section to deactivate or clear assignments.
- Ensure the controller is clean and free from debris that might obstruct button movement.
- If analog sticks exhibit drift, try recalibrating them if your console or game offers such an option.
- Target button sensitivity not changing:
- Ensure you are pressing the TARGET button firmly.
- Observe the LED indicators to confirm sensitivity level changes.
