3. System Setup

This section guides you through the initial setup of your ANNKE Security Camera System, from physical connections to network configuration.

3.1 Physical Connection

1. Connect Cameras: Use the provided BNC cables to connect each camera to the corresponding BNC input ports on the back of the DVR.
2. Power Cameras: Use the 12V power adapters and the 4-to-1 power splitter cable to provide power to all cameras.
3. Connect DVR to Monitor: Connect the DVR to a monitor using the HDMI cable (recommended for best quality) or VGA cable.
4. Connect USB Mouse: Plug the USB mouse into one of the USB ports on the DVR for navigation.
5. Network Connection (Optional but Recommended): Connect the DVR to your router using the Ethernet cable for remote viewing and updates.
6. Power On DVR: Connect the DVR to a power outlet using its dedicated power adapter. The system will boot up.

3.2 Initial Configuration

Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the initial setup wizard. This typically includes:

• Setting up a strong password for the DVR.

3.3 Mobile App Setup (ANNKE Vision)

To access your security system remotely, download the ANNKE Vision app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

1. Download and Install: Search for "ANNKE Vision" and install the app on your smartphone or tablet.
2. Create Account: Open the app and register for a new account if you don't have one.
3. Add Device: Tap the "+" icon to add a new device. Select "DVR" or "Wired System".
4. Scan QR Code: Use the app to scan the QR code displayed on your DVR's monitor (usually found in the network settings or P2P cloud section). Alternatively, manually enter the device serial number.
5. Verify: Enter the DVR's verification code (the password you set during initial configuration).
6. Live View: Once added, you should be able to view live feeds from your cameras.

4. Operating Instructions

This section covers the basic operation of your ANNKE Security Camera System, including live viewing, recording, and playback.

4.1 Live View

• On Monitor: After booting, the DVR will automatically display the live view from all connected cameras. Use the USB mouse to navigate the interface, switch camera views, or access menus.

• Alert Notifications: Set up immediate pushes to your phone via the ANNKE Vision app, or email alerts, when human or vehicle motion is detected.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your security system.

5.1 Hard Drive Management

• Continuous Recording: The 1TB HDD is designed for 24/7 surveillance. When the hard drive is full, the system will automatically overwrite the oldest footage.
• Check HDD Status: Periodically check the hard drive status in the DVR's system settings to ensure it is functioning correctly.
• Backup Important Footage: Regularly back up any critical video footage to an external USB drive or network storage to prevent accidental loss due to overwriting.

5.2 Camera Cleaning

Periodically clean the camera lenses to ensure clear image quality.

• Power Off: Disconnect power to the cameras before cleaning.
• Gentle Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with water or a mild lens cleaning solution. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
• Remove Debris: Gently wipe away dust, dirt, spiderwebs, or water spots from the lens and housing.

5.3 Firmware Updates

Check the ANNKE official website or the ANNKE Vision app for available firmware updates for your DVR. Firmware updates can improve system performance, add new features, and enhance security.

• Firewall/Router Settings: In some cases, router firewall settings might block access. Consult your router's manual or ANNKE support for port forwarding or UPnP settings if necessary.

6.3 False Motion Alerts

• Adjust Sensitivity: Lower the motion detection sensitivity in the DVR's event settings.
• Refine Detection Area: Exclude areas with frequent irrelevant motion (e.g., swaying trees, busy roads) from the detection zone.
• AI Detection: Ensure AI Human/Vehicle Detection is enabled and configured correctly to filter out non-human/vehicle movements.
