2. Safety Instructions

  • Always assemble the table on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.
  • Due to the weight and size of the table, assembly requires a minimum of two people.
  • Ensure all hardware is securely tightened before using the table. Periodically check and retighten hardware as needed.
  • Do not stand or sit on the table.
  • Keep small parts and packaging materials away from children and pets.
  • Avoid placing hot items directly on the table surface without protective padding.

4.4. Final Placement

  1. With assistance, carefully turn the table upright and move it to its desired location.
  2. Ensure the table is level and stable. Adjust glides on the bottom of the legs if necessary.

5. Operation

5.1. Extending the Table

To extend the table, follow the steps outlined in Section 4.3 for inserting the removable leaf. This increases the table's length from 66 inches to 78 inches, accommodating more guests.

5.2. Retracting the Table

To retract the table to its shorter length:

  1. Unlock any locking mechanisms securing the leaf.
  2. Gently pull the tabletop halves apart to release the leaf.
  3. Carefully lift and remove the leaf. Store it in a safe place to prevent damage.
  4. Push the two tabletop halves back together until they are flush and secure.

6. Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Wipe the table surface with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or silicone-based polishes, as these can damage the finish.
  • Spills: Immediately blot any spills with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub, as this can spread the liquid and potentially damage the finish.
  • Heat and Moisture: Protect the table from direct heat sources and excessive moisture. Always use coasters under beverages and placemats under hot dishes.
  • Sunlight: Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can cause fading or discoloration of the finish.
  • Moving: When moving the table, always lift it rather than dragging it to prevent damage to the legs and floor.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1. Wobbly Table

  • Ensure all leg attachment bolts are securely tightened.
  • Check if the table is on an even surface. Adjust leg glides if present, or place shims under the legs if needed.

7.2. Leaf Not Fitting Properly

  • Verify that the table halves are fully extended before inserting the leaf.
  • Ensure the alignment pins on the leaf are correctly seated in the holes on the table halves.
  • Check for any obstructions or debris in the extension mechanism.

7.3. Surface Scratches or Dents

  • Minor scratches may be touched up with a furniture repair kit matching the Oyster White finish.
  • For significant damage, contact a professional furniture repair service.
