- Unlock any locking mechanisms securing the leaf.
- Gently pull the tabletop halves apart to release the leaf.
- Carefully lift and remove the leaf. Store it in a safe place to prevent damage.
- Push the two tabletop halves back together until they are flush and secure.
6. Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Wipe the table surface with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or silicone-based polishes, as these can damage the finish.
- Spills: Immediately blot any spills with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub, as this can spread the liquid and potentially damage the finish.
- Heat and Moisture: Protect the table from direct heat sources and excessive moisture. Always use coasters under beverages and placemats under hot dishes.
- Sunlight: Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can cause fading or discoloration of the finish.
- Moving: When moving the table, always lift it rather than dragging it to prevent damage to the legs and floor.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1. Wobbly Table
- Ensure all leg attachment bolts are securely tightened.
- Check if the table is on an even surface. Adjust leg glides if present, or place shims under the legs if needed.
7.2. Leaf Not Fitting Properly
- Verify that the table halves are fully extended before inserting the leaf.
- Ensure the alignment pins on the leaf are correctly seated in the holes on the table halves.
- Check for any obstructions or debris in the extension mechanism.
7.3. Surface Scratches or Dents
- Minor scratches may be touched up with a furniture repair kit matching the Oyster White finish.
- For significant damage, contact a professional furniture repair service.
