1. Introduction

4. Setup
4.1. Connecting the Base Unit
- Connect the telephone line cord to the LINE jack on the base unit and to your telephone wall jack.
- Connect the AC adapter to the POWER jack on the base unit and to a standard electrical outlet.
4.2. Installing Batteries in the Cordless Handset
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the cordless handset.
- Insert the two supplied AAA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover.
4.3. Charging the Cordless Handset
Place the cordless handset on the charging cradle. The charge indicator on the handset will illuminate. Allow the handset to charge for at least 7 hours before initial use.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Making and Receiving Calls
- Making a Call: Lift the handset (corded or cordless) or press the speakerphone button, then dial the number.
- Receiving a Call: Lift the handset or press the speakerphone button when the phone rings.
