3. Setup and Installation

The NH-D15S utilizes Noctua's SecuFirm2™ mounting system, which is designed for straightforward installation on various Intel and AMD sockets. 1. Prepare Motherboard: Install the appropriate backplate (for AMD/Intel) and mounting bars onto your motherboard. Ensure correct orientation and secure with the provided screws and spacers.
2. Apply Thermal Compound: Clean the CPU surface and apply a small amount of Noctua NT-H1 thermal compound to the center of the CPU's integrated heat spreader (IHS). A pea-sized dot is generally sufficient.

3. Mount Heatsink: Carefully place the NH-D15S heatsink onto the CPU, aligning the mounting screws with the mounting bars. Tighten the screws evenly until secure.
4. Attach Fan: Secure the NF-A15 PWM fan to the heatsink using the provided fan clips. Ensure the fan is oriented to push air through the heatsink fins towards the rear of the case.
