1. Introduction and Safety Information
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe operation and maintenance of your Unicraft PG-E80TEA Benzine Generator. Read all instructions carefully before operating the generator to prevent injury or damage.
1.1 General Safety Warnings
- Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Generators produce carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas. Operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, far from windows, doors, and vents. Never operate indoors or in enclosed spaces.
- Electrical Shock Hazard: Do not operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure all connections are dry and secure. Use ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) when operating in damp locations.
- Fire Hazard: Gasoline is highly flammable. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke or allow open flames near the generator. Store fuel in approved containers.
- Hot Surfaces: The generator engine and muffler become very hot during operation and remain hot for some time after shutdown. Avoid contact to prevent burns.
- Moving Parts: Keep hands, feet, and clothing away from moving parts to prevent injury.
- Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the generator at all times.

3. Setup
Before first use, perform the following setup steps:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the generator from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
- Wheel and Handle Assembly: If not pre-assembled, attach the wheels and handle according to the diagrams in the separate assembly guide (if provided). Ensure all bolts are securely tightened.
- Add Engine Oil: The generator is shipped without engine oil. Remove the oil filler cap/dipstick and add the recommended type and amount of engine oil (refer to specifications for oil type and capacity). Do not overfill.
- Connect Battery (for Electric Start models): Connect the positive (+) battery cable (red) to the positive terminal on the battery, and the negative (-) battery cable (black) to the negative terminal. Ensure connections are tight.
- Add Fuel: Fill the fuel tank with fresh, unleaded gasoline. Do not overfill. Ensure the fuel cap is securely tightened. Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately.
- Positioning: Place the generator on a firm, level surface outdoors, away from combustible materials and at least 1 meter (3 feet) from buildings or other equipment.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Starting the Generator
- Ensure all electrical loads are disconnected from the generator.
- Turn the fuel valve to the "ON" position.
- Move the choke lever to the "CHOKE" position (if the engine is cold).
- Turn the engine switch to the "ON" position.
- For Electric Start: Turn the key to the "START" position and hold until the engine starts. Release the key once the engine runs.
- For Manual Start: Pull the recoil starter handle firmly and smoothly until the engine starts.
- Once the engine starts and warms up (a few seconds), gradually move the choke lever to the "RUN" position.
4.2 Connecting Electrical Loads
- Allow the generator to run for a few minutes to stabilize.
- Plug in the appliances or extension cords into the appropriate AC 230V or AC 400V outlets.
- Ensure the total wattage of connected appliances does not exceed the generator's rated output.
- Monitor the voltage meter on the control panel to ensure stable output.
4.3 Stopping the Generator
- Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
- Allow the generator to run for a few minutes without load to cool down.
- Turn the engine switch to the "OFF" position.
- Turn the fuel valve to the "OFF" position.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your generator. Always perform maintenance with the engine off and cool.
