Setup

  1. Charge the Sensor: Place the Blast Motion sensor on the wireless charger. Connect the charger to a power source using the provided USB cable. The sensor will indicate charging status.
  2. Install the Blast Baseball App: Download and install the "Blast Baseball" application from your device's app store (compatible with iOS and Android).
  3. Account Setup and Sensor Pairing: Open the app, create an account, and follow the on-screen instructions to pair your Blast Motion sensor with your smartphone or tablet.
  4. Attach Sensor to Bat: Securely attach the sensor to the knob of your baseball bat using the universal attachment. Ensure the sensor is firmly seated. The Smart Bat Insertion Key can assist with proper placement.

Once the sensor is attached, no further calibration is required. The system uses natural motion capture technology.

Operating Instructions

The Blast Baseball app provides real-time feedback and analysis of your swings. Ensure your sensor is connected to the app before beginning your training session.

Swing Analysis

The sensor automatically captures and analyzes each swing. Key metrics displayed in the app include:

  • Bat Speed: The total speed of the barrel at impact.
  • Attack Angle: The angle at which the barrel approaches the ball at impact.
  • Time to Contact: The duration measured from the start of the downswing to impact.

Advanced Metrics and Features (Premium Subscription)

A Blast membership (subscription) unlocks additional features and advanced metrics. These may include:

  • 3D Swing Tracer: Replay swings from any angle for detailed visual analysis.
  • Video Capture: The app can record your hitting session and automatically clip video highlights of each swing with overlaid metrics.
  • Additional Swing Metrics: Such as On Plane Efficiency, Rotational Acceleration, Early Connection, and Connection.

Maintenance

  • Charging: Recharge the sensor regularly using the provided wireless charger and USB cable to ensure optimal performance.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the sensor and attachment with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt or debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: Store the sensor and its components in a cool, dry place when not in use. Protect it from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
  • Attachment Care: Periodically inspect the universal bat attachment for wear and tear. Replace if damaged to ensure secure sensor placement.

Troubleshooting
