Setup

Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all items listed below are present and undamaged:

Powering the Keyboard

The MK-2000 can be powered using the included AC adapter or batteries.

AC Adapter Connection:

  1. Locate the DC IN port on the rear of the keyboard.
  2. Connect the AC adapter to the DC IN port.
  3. Plug the AC adapter into a standard wall outlet.

Battery Installation:

  1. Turn the keyboard upside down.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 6 x "AA" size batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Attaching the Music Stand

Insert the two prongs of the music stand into the slots located on the top panel of the keyboard, behind the control panel. Ensure it is firmly seated.

Operating Instructions

Basic Operation

  1. Power On/Off: Press the POWER button to turn the keyboard on or off.
  2. Volume Control: Use the MASTER VOL buttons to adjust the overall volume.
  3. Tone Selection: The keyboard features 255 different tones. Use the TONE +/- buttons or the numeric keypad to select a desired tone. Refer to the tone list printed on the keyboard's panel.
  4. Rhythm Selection: The keyboard includes 255 rhythms. Use the RHYTHM +/- buttons or the numeric keypad to select a rhythm. Refer to the rhythm list on the keyboard's panel.
  5. Tempo Adjustment: Adjust the speed of the rhythm using the TEMPO +/- buttons.

Advanced Features

Percussion Pads:

The 8 percussion pads allow you to add drum sounds to your performance. Simply press the pads to trigger different percussion sounds.

Demo Songs:

The keyboard has 24 built-in demo songs. Press the DEMO button to cycle through and play the demonstration songs.

Intelligent Teaching Function:

This feature assists beginners in learning to play. Follow the instructions on the display to learn various songs and exercises. Consult the full manual for detailed steps on using the teaching modes (One-Key, Follow, Ensemble).

Microphone Input:

Connect the included microphone to the MIC IN jack on the rear of the keyboard to sing along while you play.

Headphone Output:

For private practice, connect standard 3.5mm headphones to the PHONES jack on the rear of the keyboard. This will mute the internal speakers.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Wipe the keyboard with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.

Storage

When not in use, store the keyboard in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, remove batteries to prevent leakage.
