3.1. What's in the Box

Upon unboxing your Nikon D7200, ensure all the following components are present:

• D7200 DX-format Digital SLR Body (Black)
• EN-EL15 Rechargeable Li-ion Battery
• MH-25a Battery Charger
• UC-E17 USB Cable
• AN-DC1 Camera Strap
• DK-5 Eyepiece Cap
• DK-23 Rubber Eyecup
• BF-1B Body Cap

3.2. Battery and Memory Card Installation

Insert the EN-EL15 rechargeable Li-ion battery into the battery compartment located at the bottom of the camera. Ensure it clicks into place. Charge the battery using the MH-25a Battery Charger before first use. The D7200 supports SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards and features two card slots for extended storage or backup. Insert memory cards into the designated slots until they click.

3.3. Lens Attachment

The Nikon D7200 uses the Nikon F mount. To attach a lens, align the mounting mark on the lens with the mounting mark on the camera body, then rotate the lens counter-clockwise until it locks into place. To detach, press the lens release button and rotate the lens clockwise.

4.1. Basic Controls and Dials

Familiarize yourself with the camera's main controls. The top panel features the mode dial, command dials, and information display. The rear panel includes the 3.2-inch LCD monitor, multi-selector, and various function buttons for menu navigation, playback, and settings adjustments.

4.2. Shooting Modes

The D7200 offers a variety of shooting modes accessible via the mode dial:

• Auto: Fully automatic mode for simple point-and-shoot operation.
• P (Programmed Auto): Camera sets aperture and shutter speed for optimal exposure.
• S (Shutter-Priority Auto): You set the shutter speed, camera sets aperture. Ideal for controlling motion blur.
• A (Aperture-Priority Auto): You set the aperture, camera sets shutter speed. Ideal for controlling depth of field.
• M (Manual): You control both aperture and shutter speed.
• Effects: Apply various creative effects to your photos.
• Scene: Pre-set modes for specific scenes (e.g., portrait, landscape).

4.3. Autofocus System

The D7200 features an advanced Multi-CAM 3500 II DX 51-point AF sensor, providing fast and accurate autofocus performance. This system includes 15 cross-type sensors for enhanced detection strength, even in low light conditions down to -3 EV. You can select various AF-area modes, including single-point AF, dynamic-area AF, 3D-tracking, and auto-area AF.

4.4. ISO Sensitivity

The camera's native ISO range is 100 to 25,600, allowing for excellent image quality in diverse lighting conditions. For extreme low-light situations, the ISO can be expanded up to BW1 (51,200) and BW2 (102,400) for monochromatic shooting.

4.5. Video Recording

The D7200 supports Full HD 1080p video recording at frame rates up to 60 fps. It offers advanced video features such as in-camera time-lapse, smooth exposure variations, and the ability to output uncompressed footage via HDMI. External microphone support is available for enhanced audio quality.

4.6. Wi-Fi and NFC Connectivity

The D7200 is equipped with built-in Wi-Fi and NFC (Near Field Communication) for seamless connectivity with compatible smart devices. Use the Nikon Wireless Mobile Utility app to transfer photos, browse images on the camera, and remotely control the D7200 from your smartphone or tablet.
