Display and Buttons
The large LCD screen displays various information including Systolic and Diastolic blood pressure, Pulse rate, Date, Time, Memory Record Number, Low battery icon, and Heartbeat icon. The device features three main buttons for easy operation:
- ON/OFF Button: Powers the device on and off, and initiates measurement.
- Memory (MEM) Button: Accesses stored measurement records.
- Set Button: Used for setting date, time, and user profiles.

Setup
1. Unpacking
Carefully remove the blood pressure monitor and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any damage. If any components are missing or damaged, contact your retailer.
2. Battery Installation
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the monitor.
- Insert four (4) AA batteries (not included) according to the polarity indicators (+ and -) inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Note: Replace batteries when the low battery icon appears on the display. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.
3. Cuff Connection
- Locate the air tube connector on the side of the monitor.
- Firmly insert the air tube plug from the cuff into the air tube connector on the monitor. Ensure a snug fit.

Operating Instructions
Before Measurement
- Avoid eating, drinking alcohol, smoking, exercising, and bathing for 30 minutes before measurement.
- Rest for at least 5 minutes before taking a measurement.
- Sit in a comfortable position with your back supported and feet flat on the floor.
- Place your arm on a flat surface so the cuff is at heart level.
Applying the Arm Cuff
- Slide your arm through the cuff loop. The air tube should run down the inside of your arm.
- Position the cuff approximately 1-2 cm (0.4-0.8 inches) above your elbow joint, directly over your brachial artery.
- Wrap the cuff snugly around your upper arm, ensuring it is not too tight or too loose. The index mark on the cuff should align with the range indicator.
Taking a Measurement
- With the cuff correctly applied and the monitor connected, press the ON/OFF button. The device will automatically begin inflation.
- The cuff will inflate, then slowly deflate. Remain still and silent during this process.
- Once the measurement is complete, your Systolic pressure, Diastolic pressure, and Pulse rate will be displayed on the LCD screen. The result will be automatically stored in memory.
- Press the ON/OFF button again to turn off the device, or it will automatically power off after a period of inactivity.
Memory Functions
The JPD-900A monitor stores 2 x 90 sets of data, including date and time, allowing for two distinct user profiles.
Reviewing Records:
- Press the MEM button to view the most recent measurement.
- Press the MEM button repeatedly to scroll through previous records.
- To switch between User 1 and User 2 memory, press the SET button while in memory review mode.
Advanced Averaging:
The device automatically displays the average of up to the last 3 readings for a more comprehensive overview of your blood pressure trends.
Setting Date and Time
To ensure accurate record-keeping, set the date and time:
- With the device off, press and hold the SET button until the year starts flashing.
- Press the MEM button to adjust the year.
- Press the SET button to confirm and move to the next setting (month, day, hour, minute).
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all settings are configured.
- Press the ON/OFF button to exit the setting mode.
Maintenance
Cleaning
- Wipe the monitor and cuff with a soft, dry cloth.
- If necessary, use a cloth lightly dampened with water or a mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
Storage
- Store the device in its soft carrying pouch when not in use.
- Keep the monitor and cuff in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity.
- Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
