Setup

Battery Installation

The D-TECT120 requires 4 AA batteries for operation. To install the batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

The device is ready for use immediately after battery installation, requiring no calibration upon power-on.

Detection Modes

The D-TECT120 offers three distinct detection modes, selectable via the mode buttons on the device:

  • Universal Mode: Detects various materials including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, wood, live wiring, and plastic pipes through a wide range of wall and floor materials.
  • Concrete Mode: Optimized for detecting objects embedded within concrete structures.
  • Drywall Mode: Specifically designed for detecting objects behind drywall, such as studs, pipes, and electrical wiring.

Spot Detection Technology

The D-TECT120 features spot detection technology, allowing it to instantly detect objects when placed directly on the detection surface. This eliminates the need for back-and-forth scanning in many situations. The illuminated display provides clear directional arrows (up, down, right, left) to guide you precisely to the object's center.

Traffic Light System
