Familiarize yourself with the main components and controls of your SJCAM SJ5000 camera:
- Lens: 170° Ultra orthoscopic camera for wide-angle capture.
- Power/Mode Button: Located on the front, used to power on/off and switch between modes (Video, Photo, Playback, Settings).
- Shutter/OK Button: Located on top, used to start/stop recording, take photos, or confirm selections.

4. Setup
4.1. Installing the Battery
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the bottom of the camera.
- Insert the provided Lithium-Ion battery, ensuring the contacts align correctly.
- Close the battery compartment cover until it clicks securely into place.
4.2. Inserting a MicroSD Card
The camera supports MicroSD cards up to 32GB. A Class 10 or higher speed rating is recommended for optimal performance.
- Locate the MicroSD card slot on the side of the camera.
- Insert the MicroSD card with the gold contacts facing the back of the camera until it clicks into place.
- To remove, gently push the card inward until it springs out.
4.3. Charging the Battery

5. Operating Your Camera
5.1. Powering On/Off
- To power on, press and hold the Power/Mode Button for a few seconds.
- To power off, press and hold the Power/Mode Button again until the screen turns off.
5.2. Switching Modes
Press the Power/Mode Button repeatedly to cycle through the different operating modes: Video Recording, Photo Capture, Playback, and Settings.
5.3. Video Recording
- Switch to Video Recording mode.
- Press the Shutter/OK Button to start recording. A red indicator light will blink, and a timer will appear on the screen.
- Press the Shutter/OK Button again to stop recording. The indicator light will stop blinking.
5.4. Photo Capture
- Switch to Photo Capture mode.
- Press the Shutter/OK Button to take a photo.
- Multiple photo shooting modes are available: Single shot, Snapper, Time-lapse. Adjust these in the camera settings.
5.5. Wi-Fi Connectivity
The Wi-Fi function allows you to operate and review content via an Android or iOS device using the dedicated SJCAM app.
- Download and install the official SJCAM app on your smartphone or tablet.
- On the camera, navigate to the settings menu and enable Wi-Fi. The camera's Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password will be displayed.

5.6. Playback
In Playback mode, use the Up/Down buttons to navigate through your recorded videos and photos. Press the Shutter/OK Button to play a video or view a photo in full screen.

6.1. General Care
