Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your APEC WATER RO-PH90 system, consult the following common problems and solutions. For further assistance, refer to the full manual or contact customer support.

Common Issues:

• No Water from Faucet: Check feed water and tank valves are fully open. Ensure RO faucet is turned on. Allow 2-3 hours for the tank to fill after initial installation.
• System Leaking: Immediately shut off feed and tank valves. Check tubing joints and filter housings for secure connections. Re-seat tubing if necessary. Inspect O-rings for damage and proper placement. For threaded leaks, re-wrap with Teflon tape and re-tighten.
• Cloudy Water or Air Bubbles: This is normal after filter changes due to trapped air. Flush the system for 2-3 full tank cycles. Gently tip the RO unit to release air from housings. Alkaline filters may naturally release microbubbles from added minerals.
• System Constantly Draining or Running: Check home water pressure (should be over 45 PSI). Replace filters if they are past their recommended lifespan (6-12 months for pre-filters, 2-3 years for RO membrane). Ensure the shut-off valve is installed correctly. A constant stream from the drain is not normal; a slight trickle is.
• Low Water Pressure or Weak Faucet Flow: Check if the tank is full (lift it; if light, it's not). Verify tank air pressure (empty tank should read 7-10 PSI). Ensure the tank valve is open and tubing is not pinched. It may be time to replace the membrane or inline filters.
• System Making Noise: Some noise is normal during refill (clicking or a soft hiss). Loud gurgling may indicate the drain saddle needs realignment. Rattling could be tubing knocking around; secure it with clips.
