Introduction
The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TS30A is a rugged digital camera designed for active lifestyles. 1. Setup
1.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery/card compartment cover on the bottom of the camera.
- Slide the lock switch to the "open" position and open the cover.
- Insert the supplied Lithium-Ion battery into the battery slot, ensuring the correct orientation as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the compartment cover firmly until it clicks, then slide the lock switch to the "locked" position.
1.2 Memory Card Installation
The camera supports SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards. It also has 220MB of built-in memory for additional storage.
- Open the battery/card compartment cover as described in Section 1.1.
- Insert the memory card into the designated slot with the contacts facing the correct direction. Push until it clicks into place.
- Close the compartment cover firmly until it clicks, then slide the lock switch to the "locked" position.
1.3 Charging the Battery
Use the supplied charging cable and adapter to charge the battery. The camera's battery is rechargeable.
- Ensure the camera is turned off.
- Connect the charging cable to the camera's AV/USB Multi port.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the power adapter, and plug the adapter into a wall outlet.
- The charging indicator light will illuminate during charging and turn off when charging is complete.

2. Operating Instructions
2.1 Power On/Off
Press the ON/OFF button located on the top of the camera to power it on or off.
2.2 Basic Photo Shooting
- Turn on the camera.
- Frame your shot using the 2.7-inch LCD screen.
- Press the shutter button halfway down to focus. The focus frame will turn green when focus is achieved.
- Press the shutter button fully down to capture the photo.
2.3 MP4 HD Video Recording
The camera records dynamic MP4 HD video in 1280 x 720p resolution.
- To start recording, simply press the independent motion picture button (red button) on the top of the camera.
- Press the motion picture button again to stop recording.
2.4 Mode Selection
Use the MODE button and directional pad to navigate and select various shooting modes:
- Advanced Underwater Mode: Compensates for red tones lost in underwater shooting for more natural images.
- Sports Mode: Optimized for capturing fast-moving subjects.
- Snow Mode: Adjusts settings for bright, snowy environments.
- Beach and Snorkeling Mode: Ideal for bright, outdoor water activities.
- Time Lapse Shooting: Position the camera to record successive images over time, which can be combined in-camera to produce time-lapse video.
- Torch Light: Use the built-in torch light to illuminate dusky underwater environments or at night. It can be turned on independently of photo/video capture.

3. Maintenance
3.1 Waterproof/Dustproof Care
To maintain the camera's waterproof and dustproof performance, adhere strictly to the following guidelines:
- Before using the camera underwater, ensure the battery/card compartment cover is completely closed and locked. Check that there are no foreign objects (e.g., sand, hair) on the rubber seal.
- After using the camera in water, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and wipe it dry with a soft cloth. Do not use chemical cleaners.
- Avoid opening the battery/card compartment when the camera is wet or in a dusty environment.
- The camera is waterproof to a depth not exceeding 8 meters (26 feet) for a time not exceeding 60 minutes. Exceeding these limits may compromise its waterproof integrity.
3.2 Cleaning the Camera
- Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera body.
- For the lens and LCD screen, use a lens cleaning cloth specifically designed for optical surfaces. Avoid applying excessive pressure.
