4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 3 x AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
4.2 Initial Placement
Place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface. Uneven surfaces can affect weighing accuracy.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
- To power on, press the ZERO/POWER button. The display will illuminate and show '0'.
- To power off, press and hold the ZERO/POWER button for a few seconds. The scale also features an auto power-off function to conserve battery life.
5.2 Switching Weighing Modes (Platform / Bowl)
The SwitchScale offers two weighing options:
- Platform Mode: For weighing items directly on the flat surface or in your own container. Ensure the reversible lid is placed with the flat side facing up.
- Bowl Mode: For weighing loose ingredients or liquids. Flip the reversible lid over to create a measuring bowl.

5.3 Weighing Items
- Ensure the scale is powered on and displaying '0'.
- Place the item(s) or container directly onto the weighing platform or into the bowl.
- The weight will be displayed on the LCD screen.

5.4 Changing Units
Press the UNIT button to cycle through the available measurement units: grams (g), pounds (lb), ounces (oz), fluid ounces (fl.oz), and milliliters (ml).
5.5 Add and Weigh (Tare) Function
The 'Add and Weigh' function allows you to weigh multiple ingredients consecutively without removing previous ones. This is also known as the 'Tare' function.
- Place the first ingredient (or an empty container) on the scale.
- Press the ZERO/POWER button. The display will reset to '0'.
- Add the next ingredient. The display will show the weight of the newly added ingredient.
- Repeat this process for additional ingredients.
6. Maintenance and Care
6.1 Cleaning
- The main unit of the scale should be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water.
- The reversible stainless steel bowl is hand-washable.
