2. Important Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these warnings and the manufacturer's instructions can result in death or serious injury.

SUFFOCATION HAZARD

  • Infants younger than 4 months can suffocate in this product if face is pressed tightly against your body.
  • At greatest risk of suffocation include those born prematurely and those with respiratory problems.
  • Check often to make sure baby's face is uncovered, clearly visible, and away from caregiver's body or clothing.
  • Make sure baby is not curled into a position with chin resting on or near baby's chest. This position can interfere with breathing.
  • If you nurse your baby in carrier, always reposition baby so baby's face is not pressed against your body.
  • Never use this carrier with babies smaller than 7 pounds without seeking the advice of a healthcare professional.

Always ensure:

  • YES! Chin is up, face is visible.

4. Setup and Wearing Instructions

Follow these steps to properly and safely wear your CuddleBug Baby Carrier. For a visual guide, please refer to the instructional video below.

Basic Tie Method:

  1. Center the Wrap: Find the CuddleBug logo and center it in front of your tummy.
  2. Cross Behind: Bring both ends of the wrap around your back, crossing them to form an 'X'.
  3. Bring Over Shoulders: Bring the ends over your shoulders to the front.
  4. Tuck Under Belt: Tuck both ends under the 'belt' section (the part with the logo), making another 'X' in front.
  5. Cross Behind Again: Bring the ends around your back again, making another 'X' on your back.
  6. Tie Securely: Tie the ends either on your side, back, or in front of you with a double knot for security.
  7. Insert Baby's Legs: Carefully tuck one of your baby's legs into one side of the front 'X' (the fabric loops over your shoulders).
  8. Insert Other Leg: Tuck the other baby's leg into the other side of the front 'X'.
  9. Spread Fabric: Spread the fabric over the baby's bottom and shoulder for support.
  10. Pull Up Belt Section: Pull the 'belt' section (the horizontal fabric with the logo) up over the baby's back and shoulders for added security.
  11. Ensure Airway: Always ensure baby's face is visible, chin is off chest, and airway is clear.

5. Care and Maintenance

To maintain the quality and longevity of your CuddleBug Baby Carrier, please follow these care instructions:

  • Washing: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle.
  • Drying: Tumble dry low or lay flat to dry.
  • Bleach: Do not bleach.
  • Ironing: Do not iron.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Wrap feels too loose: Ensure the wrap is tied snugly before inserting your baby. If it stretches out over time, washing and drying according to instructions can help it regain some elasticity.
  • Baby seems uncomfortable: Double-check that your baby is positioned correctly, with their legs in an 'M' shape (knees higher than bottom) and their back in a 'C' curve. Ensure no fabric is digging into them.
  • Baby's head is not supported: Make sure the top edge of the wrap comes up to your baby's earlobes or higher. The 'belt' section can also be pulled up over their shoulders for extra head support.
  • Difficulty tying: Practice tying the wrap without your baby first. Watch the instructional video multiple times to familiarize yourself with the steps.
