Setup

1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all components from the transport bag.
2. Select Fuel and Jet: Identify the appropriate jet for your chosen fuel type (liquid gas, gasoline, kerosene, diesel, or paraffin). The jets are clearly marked. Ensure the correct jet is installed in the stove.
3. Connect Pump to Fuel Bottle: Screw the ErgoPump securely onto your Primus fuel bottle (not included). Ensure a tight seal.
4. Connect Fuel Line to Stove: Attach the fuel line from the pump to the stove's fuel inlet. Hand-tighten until secure.
5. Position Stove: Place the stove on a stable, level, non-combustible surface. Extend the pot supports fully. The new pot supports can be folded in and out more compactly for storage.
6. Use Windscreen and Heat Reflector: Position the windscreen around the stove and place the heat reflector under the stove for optimal performance and fuel efficiency, especially in windy or cold conditions.
7. Pressurize Fuel Bottle: Pump the ErgoPump approximately 10-20 times (depending on fuel level and type) to build pressure in the fuel bottle.

Operating Instructions

Fuel Types

The Primus MultiFuel III Stove is designed to operate with the following fuel types:

Lighting the Stove

1. Open Valve: Slowly open the fuel valve on the pump for a few seconds to allow a small amount of fuel to flow into the burner cup. Close the valve. This is the priming stage.
2. Ignite Fuel: Carefully ignite the fuel in the burner cup using a match or lighter. A small flame will appear. Allow this flame to burn out completely (preheating/priming). This typically takes 30-60 seconds. The stove is properly primed when the flame dies down and the burner head is hot.
3. Open Valve Again: Once priming is complete, slowly open the fuel valve again. The stove should ignite with a strong, blue flame. If it sputters or produces a yellow flame, close the valve, allow it to cool slightly, and repeat the priming process.
4. Adjust Flame: Use the control knob on the fuel line to adjust the flame intensity.

Shutting Down the Stove

1. Close Valve: Turn the fuel valve on the pump to the closed position.
2. Depressurize: For liquid fuels, carefully release the pressure from the fuel bottle by slowly unscrewing the pump a quarter turn until you hear the air escape. Re-tighten the pump.
3. Cool Down: Allow the stove to cool completely before disassembling or packing away.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable performance of your Primus MultiFuel III Stove.

• Cleaning: After each use, especially with liquid fuels, clean any soot or residue from the burner head and pot supports. Use a soft cloth.
• Jet Maintenance: If the flame becomes weak or irregular, the jet may be clogged. Use the included multi-tool to clean or replace the jet. Always ensure the correct jet is installed for your fuel type.
• Pump Maintenance: Periodically check the O-rings and leather pump washer in the ErgoPump for wear. Lubricate the leather washer with a few drops of oil if it becomes dry. Replace worn parts using a service kit if necessary.
• Fuel Line: Inspect the fuel line for any kinks, cracks, or damage. Replace if necessary.
