Setup

1. Engine Preparation: Ensure your nitro engine is clean and free of debris around the cylinder head.
2. Attach Heater: Carefully place the SKYRC Engine Head Heater over the engine's cylinder head. Ensure it fits snugly and covers the head completely for efficient heating.
3. Connect Power:
   • Using XT60: Connect the XT60 connector from the heater to a compatible 12V DC power source (e.g., a LiPo battery with an XT60 output).
   • Using Alligator Clips: If using a power supply with binding posts or a car battery, attach the red alligator clip to the positive (+) terminal and the black alligator clip to the negative (-) terminal of your 12V DC power source. Ensure a secure connection.
4. Verify Connection: Double-check all connections to ensure they are secure and correctly polarized.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On: Once connected to a 12V DC power source, press the Power ON/OFF button located on the heater's control board (refer to Image 2).
2. Heating Indication: The LED indicator will illuminate red and stay on, signifying that the heater is actively heating the engine head.
3. Pre-heating Time: Allow the heater to operate for approximately 10-15 minutes, or until the engine head reaches a suitable operating temperature (typically around 60-70°C / 140-158°F). The exact time may vary based on ambient temperature and engine size.
4. Low Voltage Detection: If the input voltage drops below a safe level for LiPo batteries (e.g., 3.8V per cell for a 3S LiPo), the red LED will start blinking, indicating a low voltage condition. Disconnect the power source immediately and recharge or replace the battery.
5. Power Off: Once the desired temperature is reached or before starting the engine, press the Power ON/OFF button again to turn off the heater.
6. Remove Heater: Carefully remove the heater from the engine head. Be cautious as the heater will be hot.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: After use, allow the heater to cool down completely. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquids or solvents.
• Storage: Store the heater in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Cable Inspection: Periodically inspect the power cables and connectors for any signs of wear, fraying, or damage. Replace if necessary.
• No User Serviceable Parts: The internal components are not user-serviceable. Do not attempt to disassemble the unit.
