5. Setup and Installation

The Fozlock system is designed for easy installation without the need for special tools. It fits most wall-mount faucets and hose bibbs with 0.5 and 0.75 inch pipe sizes.

Installation Steps:

1. Prepare the Faucet: Ensure your outdoor faucet is turned off and any hoses or attachments are removed.
2. Install Security Disc (Optional): If your faucet handle can be easily removed or tampered with, you may install the included security disc. Remove the faucet handle, place the disc over the stem, and reattach the handle. This prevents the handle from being turned when the Fozlock is in place.
3. Position the Fozlock: Open the Fozlock cover. Align the Fozlock system over your outdoor faucet. The internal foam lining will provide a snug fit. You may need to gently squeeze the Fozlock onto the faucet to ensure it is fully seated.
4. Close and Secure: Close the Fozlock cover. The two halves should meet securely around the faucet. Insert a standard padlock (not included) through the designated holes at the bottom of the Fozlock to lock it in place.

6. Operation

Once installed and secured with a padlock, the Fozlock system completely covers the faucet, preventing access to the handle and hose connection. To access the faucet, simply unlock and remove your padlock, then open the Fozlock cover. After use, re-secure the Fozlock with your padlock.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the Fozlock system with a damp cloth as needed to remove dirt or debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
• Inspection: Periodically inspect the Fozlock for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure the hinge operates smoothly and the locking mechanism is secure.
• Padlock Care: If using a combination padlock, ensure the combination is known and accessible. For keyed padlocks, keep spare keys in a safe location. Lubricate the padlock mechanism periodically if exposed to harsh weather.
• Seasonal Use: The Fozlock provides seasonal insulation. Ensure it is properly installed during colder months to help protect your faucet.

8. Troubleshooting

• Fozlock does not fit snugly: Ensure the faucet is fully inserted into the Fozlock's opening. The internal foam is designed to compress for a tight fit. If your faucet is unusually shaped or sized, it may not be compatible.
• Padlock does not fit: The Fozlock is designed for standard padlocks. Some user feedback indicates that padlocks with a shackle diameter larger than 5/16 inch (8mm) may not fit due to the coating on the metal. Ensure your padlock's shackle is compatible.
• Difficulty closing the Fozlock: Check for any obstructions around the faucet or within the Fozlock's interior that might prevent it from closing completely.
