Little Giant 11300
Little Giant® Digital Circulated Air Incubator with Automatic Turner Instruction Manual
Model: 11300 | Brand: Little Giant
Product Overview
The Little Giant® Digital Circulated Air Incubator with Automatic Turner is designed for efficient and safe egg incubation. Constructed from durable, warmth-retaining styrofoam, it features an LCD display with LED light for easy monitoring. The integrated automatic egg turner ensures eggs are rotated consistently, preventing yolk settling. A digital control board allows for precise, one-touch temperature setting, maintaining accuracy within one degree. A built-in fan circulates warm air for uniform temperature distribution, while the digital hygrometer and water channels help manage humidity for improved hatch rates. Safety is prioritized with a redesigned plastic heater and a mesh plastic screen with no sharp edges.
This model has a capacity for 41 large chicken eggs, utilizing dishwasher-safe egg cups in the turner.
Key Features:
- Quality Construction: Durable styrofoam with LCD display and LED light.
- Automatic Egg Turner: Rotates eggs to prevent yolk settling, accommodating 41 large chicken eggs.
- Digital Control Board: Easy one-touch temperature setting with self-regulating control, maintaining temperature within one degree.
- Built-in Fan: Circulates warm air for proper temperature maintenance.
- Digital Hygrometer & Water Channels: Measures humidity and reduces loss for improved hatch rates.
- Enhanced Safety: Redesigned plastic heater and mesh plastic screen with no sharp edges.
Setup Instructions
Proper setup is crucial for successful incubation. Follow these steps to prepare your Little Giant Incubator:
- Unpacking and Placement: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Place the incubator on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight, drafts, and extreme temperature fluctuations.
- Mesh Screen Installation: Place the plastic mesh screen on the bottom of the incubator base. This screen provides a safe and sanitary surface for the eggs.

Ensure you support the back of the foam top when plugging in the power cord to prevent damage.
Important: It is recommended to use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protected outlet. Do not use an extension cord with the incubator. The unit is designed to be plugged directly into the outlet.
- Water Channel Filling: To fill the water channels, gently lift the top of the incubator and slide it back an inch or two to access the channels on the base. Use a turkey baster or similar tool to add room temperature water to the channels. The amount of water needed depends on your specific egg type requirements.

- When powered on, the temperature controller will automatically display humidity and current temperature. The incubator is preset to 99.5°F.
- To adjust, press and hold the "SET" button for 1-3 seconds until the current set temperature flashes.
- Use the "UP" and "DOWN" buttons to adjust to your desired temperature. Press and hold "SET" again to confirm.

- Stabilization Period: Run the incubator for a minimum of 8 hours prior to inserting eggs to stabilize internal humidity and temperature. The heater icon on the display will cycle on and off during this period. Once the desired temperature is reached, a small icon of a hatching chick will appear, indicating readiness.
Operating Instructions
Once your incubator is set up and stabilized, follow these steps for daily operation:
- Adding Eggs: Carefully place your fertile eggs directly on the plastic mesh screen.

For accurate readings, place the sensor on top of your eggs, directly beneath the temperature controller. For best results, use a trusted, calibrated secondary thermometer at egg height in the middle of one of your incubator windows.
- Egg Turning (if not using automatic turner): If your model does not have an automatic turner, eggs must be rotated 2-3 times daily. This ensures even development.

- Water Level Checks: Check water channels daily. It is best to use a flashlight to view water levels through a window if possible. Add water as needed by pushing the lid back one or two inches and adding room temperature water to the channels.
- Humidity and Ventilation: The two red vent plugs on the top of the incubator can be left in or removed to assist in controlling humidity and ventilation. In most cases, they should be left on unless there is excessive moisture or humidity (indicated by windows fogging up or water droplets forming). If removing plugs, you may observe a slight temperature drop; you may need to adjust temperatures slightly or reinsert plugs to retain temperature. The internal hygrometer is useful for adjusting and monitoring humidity. The humidity reading is most accurate between 60% and 80%.
- Hatching Period: Once eggs have started to hatch, wait an additional 48 to 72 hours for the hatch to complete before opening the incubator to remove chicks. This allows all viable eggs to hatch and chicks to dry.
Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your incubator:
- Cleaning After Hatch: Once all birds have hatched and been removed, the incubator can be cleaned. Use soap and water to clean your incubator. Do not scrub or use bleach, as these can damage the unit.
- Mesh Screen Cleaning: The plastic mesh screen is dishwasher safe for easy cleaning and sanitization.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your incubator, consider the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Inaccurate Temperature/Humidity Readings | Sensor not properly placed, external factors, or unit calibration. | Ensure sensor is hanging freely and placed on top of eggs. Use a calibrated secondary thermometer for verification. Adjust temperature settings as needed. |
| Low Hatch Rate | Inconsistent temperature/humidity, infertile eggs, or improper turning. | Verify temperature and humidity with a secondary device. Ensure eggs are fertile before incubation. Confirm automatic turner is functioning or manually turn eggs regularly. |
| Unit Not Heating Properly | Power supply issue, damaged heating element, or incorrect settings. | Check power connection and ensure it's plugged into a GFCI outlet. Verify temperature settings. If issues persist, contact customer support. |
| Excessive Moisture/Fogging | High humidity levels. | Remove red vent plugs to release humidity. Monitor hygrometer readings and adjust water levels accordingly. |
