6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

To clean the flash unit:

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the flash.
  • For the flash tube and reflector, use a lens cleaning cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

6.2 Battery Care

  • Remove batteries when the flash is not in use for extended periods to prevent leakage.
  • Use high-quality rechargeable Ni-MH batteries for optimal performance and faster recycle times.

6.3 Storage

Store the flash in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the provided protective bag for safe storage and transport.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Flash not firing: Check battery levels, ensure the flash is securely mounted, and verify the selected mode and channel settings.
  • Slow recycle time: Replace old batteries with fresh ones or use higher capacity rechargeable batteries. Ensure the external power port is not obstructed if using an external power pack.
  • Inconsistent wireless triggering: Check for obstructions between the master and slave units. Ensure both units are on the same channel and group. Reduce distance between units if necessary.
  • Overheating protection: If the flash fires rapidly at high power, it may enter overheating protection mode. Allow it to cool down before further use.
