Setup Guide
1. Installing Batteries
Both the keyboard and mouse require AA batteries for operation.
- For the Keyboard: Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the keyboard. Open the cover, insert two (2) AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-), then close the cover.
- For the Mouse: Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the mouse. Open the cover, insert one (1) AA battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-), then close the cover.
The keyboard features LED indicators that will show battery status.
2. Connecting the USB Wireless Receiver
The USB wireless receiver enables communication between the keyboard, mouse, and your computer.
- Locate the small USB wireless receiver, typically stored within the mouse's battery compartment for safekeeping during transport.
- Plug the USB wireless receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
- Your computer should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers. This may take a few moments.

Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surfaces of the keyboard and mouse. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Do not immerse the devices in water.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator lights up or when performance degrades. Always use fresh, high-quality AA batteries.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, turn off the mouse to conserve battery life. Store the USB receiver in the mouse's battery compartment to prevent loss.
- Environment: Avoid exposing the devices to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high humidity.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your Insignia Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Combo, try the following solutions:
Keyboard or Mouse Not Responding
- Check Batteries: Ensure batteries are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge. Replace them if necessary.
- Power Switch: Make sure the mouse's power switch is in the 'ON' position.
- USB Receiver: Ensure the USB receiver is securely plugged into a working USB port on your computer. Try a different USB port.
- Distance/Obstructions: Move the keyboard and mouse closer to the USB receiver. Ensure there are no large metal objects between the devices and the receiver that could interfere with the wireless signal.
- Re-pairing: While typically plug-and-play, some wireless devices may benefit from re-pairing. Consult your computer's operating system settings for Bluetooth or wireless device management, though for 2.4GHz USB receivers, this is rarely needed beyond re-plugging the receiver.
Keys Not Registering / Mouse Jumpy
- Clean Devices: Dust or debris under keys or obstructing the mouse's optical sensor can cause issues. Clean the devices as described in the Maintenance section.
- Surface for Mouse: Ensure the mouse is used on a clean, non-reflective, and uniform surface.
- Interference: Other wireless devices operating on the 2.4GHz frequency (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, cordless phones) can cause interference. Try moving the receiver or the devices away from such sources.
