Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to properly set up your Airmax EcoSeries Floating Fountain. A minimum water depth of 24 inches is required for proper operation.

  1. Ensure Adequate Power: Before assembly, confirm you have a power source close enough to your pond. If not, it is highly recommended to use a licensed electrician to properly run power to the pond location.
  2. Mount Control Panel: Mount the control panel in a fixed position near the power source.
  3. Choose Spray Pattern: The Classic nozzle is pre-installed. If you wish to change the spray pattern, simply unscrew the nozzle nut, remove the current nozzle, and replace it with your desired pattern (Trumpet or Crown & Trumpet). Screw the nozzle nut back into place.
  4. Assemble Float to Motor: Lay the float flat on the ground with the Airmax logo facing up. Place the fountain motor assembly into the center of the float, ensuring the motor leads pass through the center hole.
  5. Connect Power Cord: Gently lay the fountain to one side. Securely attach the power cord to the fountain motor lead quick disconnect. Attach the power cord strain relief to the loop underneath the float mount ring.
  6. Attach Mooring Lines: Attach the mooring lines (not included, vinyl-coated galvanized wire with cable clamps, carabiners, and stakes recommended) to the loops on the float.
  7. Place in Pond: Pick up the fountain by the float and gently place it into the water.
  8. Secure Fountain Position: Place one stake securely into the ground near the pond edge and tie one side of the mooring line to it. Take the other stake and mooring line and walk it around the pond, carefully pulling the fountain across the water to its desired central position. Once in position, tie the second mooring line to the second stake and place it securely into the ground. Ensure both mooring lines are snug to prevent the fountain from twisting and shifting during operation.
  9. Connect to Power: Plug the fountain's power cord into the control panel outlet labeled "Fountain." Plug the control panel into a power source. Make sure the GFCI reset button is pushed in. Set timer pins to desired run cycles or 24 hours.

Operating Instructions

Your Airmax EcoSeries Floating Fountain is designed for continuous operation once properly set up. The control panel allows for timed operation. The kit includes three distinct spray patterns to customize your pond's appearance:

  • Classic Pattern: A high-volume, V-shaped pattern, ideal for a broad, elegant display. (Approx. 6' high x 16' wide)
  • Trumpet Pattern: Provides a tall, singular burst of water into the sky, creating a dramatic vertical accent. (Approx. 14' high x 7' wide)
  • Crown & Trumpet Pattern: Combines the tall Trumpet pattern with a wide arching crown, offering a majestic and expansive display. (Approx. 8' high x 32' wide)

To change the spray pattern, refer to step 3 in the Setup Instructions. No tools are required for nozzle changes.

Maintenance Instructions

Regular maintenance ensures the optimal performance and longevity of your Airmax EcoSeries Floating Fountain. Always disconnect all power from the fountain before attempting any maintenance.

  1. Routine Cleaning: Periodically clean the intake screen of debris, algae, and aquatic weeds. This is crucial for maintaining proper water flow and preventing motor strain. For ponds with heavy debris, consider installing an optional motor sock pre-filter on the intake screen to increase time between routine cleanings.
  2. Winter Removal (for cooler climates): In cooler climates where ice formation is expected, it is recommended to remove the fountain from the pond before ice begins to form.
  3. Cleaning Before Storage: Before storing the unit for winter, it is a great time to clean or power wash any debris from the fountain.
  4. Storage: Store the fountain in a place above freezing temperatures to prevent damage.
  5. Pre-Season Check: Before reinstalling the unit in the spring, check the condition of the power cord and quick disconnects. Replace any cracked O-rings as necessary to ensure a watertight seal.

Troubleshooting

If your Airmax EcoSeries Floating Fountain is not operating as expected, consider the following common issues:

  • No Power: Ensure the control panel is properly plugged into a working power source and the GFCI reset button is pushed in. Check your home's circuit breaker.
  • Reduced Water Flow/Pattern: This is often caused by a clogged intake screen. Disconnect power and clean the intake screen of any debris, algae, or aquatic weeds.
  • Fountain Twisting/Shifting: Ensure the mooring lines are snug and securely anchored to prevent movement during operation.
  • Motor Not Running: Verify all quick disconnects are securely fastened. If the issue persists after checking power and connections, contact customer support.
