5.2 Misting Operation
To use the misting function, ensure the fan is connected to a garden hose and the water supply is turned on.
- Activate Misting: Once the fan is running and connected to the water supply, the misting nozzles will begin to emit a fine mist.
- Adjust Water Flow: You can adjust the intensity of the mist by controlling the water flow from your garden hose spigot. A lower flow will produce a finer mist, while a higher flow will produce a more noticeable mist.
- Cooling Effect: The misting function works by evaporative cooling, which can lower the surrounding air temperature by up to 10°F. This is most effective in arid climates.
- Turning Off Misting: To stop the misting, turn off the water supply from your garden hose spigot. It is recommended to turn off the water supply before turning off the fan to prevent water accumulation.

Regular maintenance will help ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your NewAir AF-520B fan.

- Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior surfaces of the fan. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- For the fan blades and grille, use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to remove dust and debris.
- The misting nozzles can be cleaned by gently wiping them. If they become clogged, carefully remove them and soak in a descaling solution (e.g., vinegar and water) to remove mineral deposits. Rinse thoroughly before reattaching.
- Storage:
- Before storing, ensure the fan is completely dry, especially the misting components.
- Disconnect the garden hose and drain any remaining water from the misting lines.
