Safety Information
Always read and understand all instructions before installation and operation. Failure to follow safety guidelines can result in property damage, injury, or death.
UL Listed: This product is UL Listed, ensuring it meets specific safety standards.
Flue Temperatures: Designed for heating appliances with inside flue temperatures exceeding 350°F and surface temperatures of the single wall pipe below the Magic Heat exceeding 280°F.
Installation Distance: Must be installed between 12 and 24 inches from the appliance flue outlet using single wall connector pipe.
Power Outages: In case of a power outage, if the unit is operating, ensure the wood stove is damped down to reduce flue temperatures. Prolonged operation without the fan can cause overheating of the unit.
Creosote: Regular inspection and cleaning of your chimney and the heat reclaimer are crucial to prevent creosote buildup, which can lead to chimney fires.
Proposition 65 Warning: This product may expose you to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Setup and Installation
Proper installation is critical for the safe and efficient operation of your Magic Heat Reclaimer. Consult a qualified professional if you are unsure about any steps.
Required Tools:
Measuring tape
Marker or pencil
Tin snips (if pipe modification is needed)
Screwdriver
Gloves and safety glasses
Installation Steps:
Preparation: Ensure your wood-burning appliance is cool and not in use. Clear the area around the flue pipe.
Measure: Identify a section of your single wall connector pipe between 12 and 24 inches from the appliance flue outlet where the Magic Heat unit will be installed.
Cut Pipe: Carefully cut out a section of the existing flue pipe to accommodate the height of the Magic Heat unit. The unit is designed to fit 6-inch diameter pipes.
Position Unit: The Magic Heat unit has a bottom crimp. The crimped end should slide into the lower section of your existing flue pipe. The upper section of your flue pipe will then slide over the top collar of the Magic Heat unit.
Secure Connections: Secure all pipe connections with appropriate fasteners (e.g., sheet metal screws) as per local building codes and manufacturer recommendations for your flue pipe system.
Electrical Connection: Plug the unit into a standard 110V household outlet.
Final Check: Verify all connections are secure and there are no obstructions to the fan or air vents.

Operating Instructions
The Magic Heat Reclaimer is designed for simple operation with two fan modes.
Fan Modes:
Continuous Mode: Flip the toggle switch to the "ON" position. The 225 CFM fan will run continuously, circulating air through the heat reclaimer. This mode is suitable for consistent heat distribution.
Thermostat Control Mode: Flip the toggle switch to the "AUTO" or "THERMOSTAT" position (label may vary). The fan will automatically turn on when the Magic Heat casing reaches approximately 150°F and turn off when it cools to about 120°F. This mode optimizes energy use by only running the fan when sufficient heat is available from the flue.
How it Works:
As hot flue gases from your wood stove travel upwards through the chimney, they pass through the inner case of the Magic Heat Reclaimer. This heats the internal transfer tubes. Cool room air is drawn into the unit through back vents and is pushed by the fan through these heated transfer tubes. The warmed air is then circulated into your home, reclaiming up to 30,000 BTUs of otherwise lost heat. The flue gases continue their path up the chimney without restriction.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and safety of your Magic Heat Reclaimer.
Cleaning the Heat Exchanger Tubes:
The unit features a built-in soot scraper. Periodically operate the scraper by moving the external handle back and forth to clean the internal heat transfer tubes. This prevents soot buildup and maintains heat transfer efficiency.
For thorough cleaning, the back panel of the unit is removable. Ensure the unit is completely cool and unplugged before attempting to remove the back panel for access to the internal components.

General Maintenance:
Chimney Cleaning: Adhere to recommended chimney cleaning schedules for your wood-burning appliance. The Magic Heat Reclaimer extracts heat from flue gases, which can lead to increased creosote condensation in the chimney above the unit. Regular chimney sweeping is essential.
Fan Inspection: Periodically check the fan for any unusual noises or obstructions. Ensure the air intake and exhaust vents are clear of dust and debris.
Electrical Cord: Inspect the power cord for any signs of damage or wear.
