2. Safety Instructions

Front Panel Controls:

5. Setup

5.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Place the main unit and speakers on a stable, level surface, ensuring adequate space for ventilation.
  3. Install the dust cover by aligning its hinges with the slots on the main unit and gently pressing down until it clicks into place.

5.2 Speaker Connection

  1. Connect the included speaker cables to the speaker terminals on the rear of the main unit and the corresponding terminals on each speaker. Ensure correct polarity (red to red, black to black).

5.3 Antenna Connection

  1. Connect the supplied FM wire antenna to the FM antenna terminal on the rear panel. Extend the wire for optimal reception.
  2. Connect the supplied AM loop antenna to the AM antenna terminals. Position the loop for best reception.

5.4 Power Connection

  1. Ensure the unit's power switch is in the OFF position.
  2. Connect the power cord to the AC power input on the rear of the main unit.
  3. Plug the other end of the power cord into a suitable wall outlet.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 General Operation

  1. Press the Power button to turn the unit ON.
  2. Use the Source Selector button to choose your desired input mode (PHONO, CD, BLUETOOTH, USB, AM/FM).
  3. Adjust the Volume Knob to your preferred listening level.

6.2 Turntable Operation (PHONO)

  1. Lift the dust cover.
  2. Place a vinyl record on the platter.
  3. Select the appropriate speed (33, 45, or 78 RPM) using the Speed Selector switch. For 45 RPM records, place the included adapter on the spindle.
  4. Gently lift the tonearm from its rest and position it over the desired track on the record.
  5. Lower the tonearm slowly onto the record. Playback will begin.
  6. At the end of the record, the tonearm will automatically return to its rest position.

6.3 CD Player Operation

  1. Press the Source Selector to choose CD mode.
  2. Press the Eject button to open the CD tray.
  3. Place a CD (audio CD or MP3/WMA CD) with the label side up into the tray.
  4. Press the Eject button again to close the tray. The unit will read the disc.
  5. Press the Play/Pause button to start playback.
  6. Use the Skip Forward/Backward buttons to navigate tracks.
  7. Press the Stop button to end playback.

6.4 Bluetooth Operation

  1. Press the Source Selector to choose BLUETOOTH mode. The display will show "BLUETOOTH" and begin flashing, indicating pairing mode.
  2. On your Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "TEAC MC-D800" from the list of devices.
  4. Once paired, the display will stop flashing and show "BLUETOOTH" steadily.
  5. Start playing audio on your connected device. The sound will be streamed to the MC-D800.

6.5 USB Playback

  1. Insert a USB flash drive containing MP3 or WMA audio files into the USB port.
  2. Press the Source Selector to choose USB mode.
  3. The unit will automatically scan and begin playing the audio files.
  4. Use the Playback Controls (Play/Pause, Stop, Skip Forward/Backward) to manage your music.

6.6 AM/FM Radio Operation

  1. Press the Source Selector to choose AM or FM mode.
  2. Use the Tuning buttons (usually Skip Forward/Backward) to manually tune to a station.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Unit

  • Always unplug the unit before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces.

  • For the dust cover, use a soft, damp cloth and then dry thoroughly.

7.2 Stylus Care

  • A dirty stylus can affect sound quality and damage records. Clean the stylus periodically using a soft brush, brushing gently from back to front.
