Safety Information

Setup

1. Unpack: Carefully remove the welding helmet and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
2. Adjust Headband: Adjust the headband for a comfortable and secure fit. The helmet should sit firmly on your head without being too tight. Ensure the sweatband is properly positioned for comfort and absorption.
3. Test ADF Function: Before welding, expose the front of the helmet to a bright light source (not direct sunlight or a welding arc) to confirm the ADF darkens. The solar cell powers the ADF, so no battery change is required.
4. Set Controls:
   • Shade: Use the external control to set the desired shade level (9-13) based on your welding process and amperage.
   • Sensitivity: Adjust the sensitivity to prevent the filter from darkening from ambient light or to ensure it darkens quickly enough for your arc.
   • Delay: Set the delay time (0.25 - 0.3 seconds) for the filter to return to its light state after the arc stops. This prevents eye strain from afterglow.

Operating Instructions

Once the helmet is properly set up, you are ready to begin welding:

1. Position Helmet: Place the helmet on your head, ensuring a clear view through the lens in the light state.
2. Initiate Arc: Begin your welding process. The two sensors on the helmet will detect the welding arc and automatically darken the filter to the pre-set shade level (9-13) within 1/16000 seconds.
3. Maintain Arc: Continue welding. The filter will remain dark as long as the arc is present.
4. Cease Arc: When the welding arc stops, the filter will automatically return to its light state after the set delay time (0.25 - 0.3 seconds).
5. Language Support: The lens features language support for English, French, and Spanish.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your welding helmet:

• Clean Lens: Regularly clean the outer and inner protective lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth. If necessary, use a mild soap and water solution. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Inspect Helmet: Periodically inspect the helmet shell, headband, and ADF unit for any signs of damage, cracks, or wear. Replace damaged parts immediately.
• Sweatband: The sweatband should be cleaned or replaced regularly for hygiene and comfort.
• Storage: Store the helmet in a clean, dry environment, away from direct sunlight, dust, and extreme temperatures.
