5. Setup and Installation
5.1 Pre-Installation Checklist
- Location: Choose a suitable location in your wall, free from studs, electrical wires, and plumbing. Use a stud finder to locate obstructions.
- Wiring: Ensure you have appropriate gauge speaker wire (typically 14-16 gauge for most home installations) run from your amplifier/receiver to the speaker location.
- Tools: You will need a pencil, tape measure, utility knife or drywall saw, wire strippers, screwdriver, and a stud finder.
5.2 Mounting Instructions
- Mark the Cut-out: Position the included cut-out template on the wall at your desired location. Use a pencil to trace the outline of the template. The required cut-out size is 7.4 inches x 19.21 inches.
- Cut the Opening: Carefully cut along the traced line using a utility knife or drywall saw. Ensure the cut is clean and precise.
- Run Wires: If not already done, feed the speaker wire through the wall opening.
- Connect Wires: Strip approximately 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of your speaker wire. Connect the positive (+) wire (usually red or marked) to the red terminal on the speaker and the negative (-) wire (usually black or unmarked) to the black terminal. Ensure no stray wire strands are touching.
- Insert Speaker: Carefully insert the speaker into the wall opening.
- Secure Speaker: Tighten the mounting screws located on the front baffle of the speaker. As you tighten, the wall-lock mounting clamps will pivot outwards and secure the speaker firmly to the wall. Do not overtighten.
- Attach Grille: Once the speaker is securely mounted, attach the paintable grille by gently pressing it into place. The grille is held by magnets or friction fit.

6. Operating Instructions
After successful installation, connect your amplifier or receiver to the speaker wires. Ensure the amplifier is turned off before making connections. Once connected, you can power on your audio system and enjoy the sound. Adjust the pivoting tweeter to direct high frequencies towards your primary listening area for optimal sound staging.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Dust the speaker grille and frame periodically with a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, the grille can be carefully removed for deeper cleaning.
- Painting the Grille: If you wish to paint the grille to match your wall color, remove it from the speaker. Use a light coat of spray paint, ensuring the perforations remain clear. Allow to dry completely before reattaching.
- Inspection: Periodically check the mounting screws to ensure the speaker remains securely fastened in the wall.
8. Troubleshooting
8.1 No Sound
- Check all speaker wire connections at both the speaker and the amplifier/receiver. Ensure they are secure and correctly polarized.
- Verify that the amplifier/receiver is powered on and set to the correct input source.
- Confirm that the volume is turned up and not muted.
8.2 Distorted Sound
- Reduce the volume level on your amplifier/receiver. Overdriving the speaker can cause distortion.
- Check speaker wire connections for any loose strands that might be causing a short circuit.
- Ensure the amplifier's impedance rating matches or is compatible with the speaker's 8 Ohm impedance.
8.3 Speaker Buzzing/Humming
- Check for ground loop issues. Try connecting your audio components to the same electrical outlet.
- Ensure speaker wires are not running parallel to power cables, which can induce noise.
